Goyette, Dvorsky and Musty =1st line

This allows Delic to drop down to 2C or 3C. Villie will need to move up to permanent top six. Pharand is a winger unless McCallum is traded…besides working out our OA spots not a lot of player movement will happen unless obvious upgrades. June might see a new Goalie thru trade or Import but time will tell.

I don't know if I would load them up on one line but that would make for a fun power play. Delic and Goyette have good chemistry and could be on their own line with Konyen or Villeneuve or an OA forward upgrade..

Here's another potential upgrade, If Cleveland gets drafted high and comes to Sudbury, there is some size, meanness and defensive awareness to add to a mobile blue line that desparately needs those qualities.

Biggest road block, can Paps pull any of this off and Will Dmac be in Nashville?

By the looks of things, there will always be head coach openings in the NHL. DMac has a two year window now the Wolves seem to be in their sweet spot for contending to show case his talents. He has done the Assistant coach job, IMO he has higher aspirations to be a HC. There were rumours before coming home to take on Wolves HC position that he had earlier turned down an AC position with another NHL team. Lastly, from what I read and heard about DMac it goes against his character to quit on a commitment he has made to this team. I say he stays.
Does anyone have a list of players signed for this upcoming season?

I would tend to believe that the quickest way to a HC is through the NHL not the OHL.

I would agree with you for most up and comers, but he has been to the show and won a President’s Trophy as an AC. I guess he can take the easy route and go back to Nashville and work under his buddy; however, I have a feeling he is genuine about his desire to help move this team forward and eventually be (the man) as a HC in the NHL. Time will tell…

If offered an NHL Assistant Coach position, MacKenzie won't be able to pack his bags quick enough, and I'd hold no ill will against him. It's a higher-paying position that is better for his long-term career. No different then when Stillman left.

Wouldn't be surprised if Alex doesn't get drafted and Musty drops down.

European players get drafted alot, many of which we've never heard of

To me Pharand is the type of player that is trending and useful on successful NHL teams. Ie: Vegas, Dallas, Tampa. Pharand is big with slick hands and decent above average skating for a big man. IMO, once Alex accepts who he is and stops trying to be someone he’s not. Gotta play like Nick Roy and or Stephenson, more north/south and strong on the walls and forecheck. Can be on PK and perhaps a net front presence on 2nd PP. Besides all of the on ice skill and potential, from what I see and hear you couldn’t find a better person. His off season awards support his dedication to community and character. I’d draft him somewhere 4-7 round.

Add Carrier, Hague and Amadio to the mild. Pharand is an ideal Golden Knights draft pick.

There are some differences

MacKenzie was born in Sudbury
MacKenzie played for the Wolves for all four of his OHL seasons (he never played for another OHL franchise)
His father works for the franchise and has had various roles with the Wolves for decades

Whether these are enough to sway MacKenzie to stay remains to be seen - but I think the situation is different than that of Stillman who never played for the Wolves and isn't from Sudbury.

I would tend to believe the pay scale may be a little different 🤔

The point I'm making is MacKenzie does not owe the Wolves anything; he's fully allowed to make whatever decision is best for his career. Anyone who wants to hold that against him is out to lunch.

I don't believe I said anywhere that he did? Just pointing out the differences between DM and CS when it comes to the Wolves... and I hope he does make whatever decision is best for his career.

I would agree.

I don’t think anyone will hold it against him if he goes to Nashville or elsewhere, but money isn’t the only motivator here. IMO he is working on becoming a NHL HC and the pay scale between AC and HC is significant. So small financial sacrifices now for the future. Once you secure a HC job in the NHL there are 31 other opportunities if you fail.

I am hoping the Panthers use pick #63 on Matthew Mania

Realistic?
Scouting report?

Bring the Florida kid home!
That might be a little high. I am too lazy to look up if panthers have a third or 4th rounder.
Good skater and can move the puck and shoot it. Not sure of his defensive zone instincts, gap control. He is a high risk, high reward and would have to be paired appropriately.
Seems a little slight but is only 18 so he can still fill out.
I could see him as a bit of a late bloomer and could hit. Worth a later round gamble.

They don't have a 3rd, and their 4th is #127

He has decent size for his age and as others have commented his skating is good. He's never going to be confused with a stay at home defenseman but if he can refine his offensive instincts and coaches pair him with a suitable partner he could develop into a nice offensive option.

I think #63 is too high for him though personally.

He may be there at #127 but if I were you I would be hoping FLA find a way to move into the 3rd round as I think that's probably where he goes.
