IMO if the Wolves make the right moves early such as solidifying their OA's, a solid 19 year old pick up when the trade window opens. A signing such as Cleveland the drafting team will know that Sudbury would be the ideal situation for Dvorsky. No doubt Sudbury will be a favoured team to play into a long play off, he would make his world junior appearance, and the ability to play a huge role on a team lead by coach MacKenzie in North America may just be the right development for a long term NHL career. No sense in rushing him into the AHL. That to me would be putting his development trajectory into question IMO.Montreal, in addition to Winnipeg are the two I am aware of with a history of doing this. Buffalo too to some (limited) extent, lately, they've preferred to assign their guys to the AHL and they have a strong prospect crew there so they'd likely put Dvorsky there as well.
Arizona wouldn't as they would then have to pay Dvorsky, and they're very budget conscious, Ottawa has pushed for players to leave the NCAA to play in the CHL, but no European history. Vancouver leaves their guys in Europe, they've had great success that way, Detroit assigns to the AHL, Columbus is a big believer in the Euro system, but lately has pushed guys to leave the NCAA/Europe for the AHL, Philadelphia has used the AHL, Chicago as well.
That largely covers the basement teams, so the best hope is 100% Montreal.
