To be fair, Tinordi is a guy who is guaranteed a spot, and as a vet he’s just using preseason to get up to speed.
We know what kind of player he is and he’s perfect as 7D.
I don’t think there’s much to read into his preseason.

i wouldn’t say he’s guaranteed a spot
What he’s guaranteed is to be waived at some point this year lol
Look at his career he’s in the AHL more than nhl

he’s just a depth guy. If a team injury occurs for an extended period we will see Jones . I assume Nils gets the 6th spot

Gotta love how the team rallied to get back at Subban. Even Panarin and Strome were throwing hits. They didn't let it go either. Kreider with the follow-up.

It felt like a clear message within the team that they've got each other's back.

Edit: Also, look how close Blaze sits to Kreider in the penalty box after. It's subtle. It's respect and team unity. It's a great sign.

What i love even more is that they went with clean hits and used opportunities they had to hit him.

Didn't look like much intent to be honest. Bit of a slewfoot and unfortunate toe pick.

I agree, the whole slew foot thing has lost its bearing a bit. It became a thing because some started to use it to injure players. You skate up to the side of a player and put your shoulders infront of him and leg behind him, and then use the leverage you get to sweep your leg forward and upper body backwards. It creates a nasty fall. Some SOBs around the league had started to use that play systematically and during an era where nothing besides 3-4 random calls per team were made, it almost never resulted in penalties. Just looks like two guys getting tangled up and going down. And on the rare occasion a player hit their back of the head to the ice and got a concussion. Especially some PFers just had it and made some noise about it, why should Kaspar be allowed to do this every time we go into the corner with him?? Is that hockey? So the league basically tried to ban it by making it an automatic 5 major.

Just tripping someone with your skates has nothing to do with slow footing.

If you cut someone with your blade, it’s one thing, but honestly, Subban could just as well have tapped RR with his stick and gotten the same effect.

it's just a careless play the Subban does a lot because he tries to use his leg to pin guys along the boards
he rightfully got run all game for being careless, hopefully Reaves is OK

I agree, because why would Subban go over to him in the way he did to see if he was ok if it was a normal play?

He kinda half slewed him.

Subban isn't a dirty player but he f***ed up and he knew it. He acted like he didn't mean it (I'm sure he didn't want Reaves to be injured, that wasn't his intention) but the injury resulted partly from that little drag of the foot to pin him to the wall or whatever he was trying to do there.

Regardless, good on Kreider and the Rangers for responding the way they did

Kreider looked like he wanted the C last night. If I’m Gallant I tell him you play like this every night and the C is yours.

and he was like from puck drop. His first shift he laid a big hit and set the tone of the night. We need him to do that more. I’m not fixed on his offensive game as others are. I want him to be the leader we need.

Entertaining game for sure.

A lot to like and a lot not to.

The running aoround in our own zone (especially after the 1st goal) was ridiculous... the D (Nils... looking at you kid) just watching the 2nd goal occur was painful. Miller was just OK IMO... Tinordi is who I thought he was.

It's just pre-season so no panic or anything but if they can't defend, can't escape their zone and Shesty has to be named 2nd star after giving up 2 goals against an AHL debbies squad... it's gonna be rough.

That being said, the physicality, Kreider/Subban aside, was MUCH better.

I have Captain Jack becoming a Ranger at a solid 49%.
Ducks 40%.
Calgary30%
Mystery team 30%

Along with a 50/50 chance of being wrong that he becomes a Ranger at all. I'm not making sense am I?

In before a math genius rips me a new one.

I personally think he already knows he's got it.

Astonished by the Miller hate even after last nights game where he was mostly great.

Meanwhile Nils had a train wreck 3rd and its as if it never happened lol.

Neither one looked particularly good. Fox and Lindgren were the ones that carried us on d last night. I still think Schneider was our best option but i understand why he was sent down. Jones needs to be really good next game

Watched the replay when I got home late. Reading this thread afterwards is pretty funny. I don't know how fans can overreact and go so emotionally overboard as a game, a preseason game, is in progress. Sure I note stuff I see to myself, wonder what a guy was thinking, etc, but to bother posting some over the top rant? And then to see what most of you are ranting about, turn completely around a half hour later? Nuts.

Yeah, it's not great. I think our more stable posters on balance tend to be less involved in the game day threads.
