It may be a preseason game against a B squad but lots of grit and assertiveness that we haven't seen in years. Lightyears better than when Quinn said "We're just not built like that" right before the house cleaning.

I have a feeling that if the same thing happened to a Ranger last year and Quinn was behind the bench the reaction of the team to the injury would have been different and more passive.

Authentic home Blais 91. Don’t change your username or I’ll literally ban you

But seriously. This is a great community. I have stuck my nose in on many other teams boards and never seen the level of camaraderie and laughs that we have in here. We have a really great group. Never seen the levels of drama and overreaction either, but I genuinely love being part of these boards. This was a fun way to show it and pay it forward. Brighten someone’s day, give everyone a laugh. Just remember, opinions are like assholes - not only does everyone have one, but it’s normal to think everyone’s stinks but your own. The important thing to remember is that we’re all on the same team :thumbu:

It may have been their B squad, but the Debs haven't lost a game until tonight. They beat the Isles and the Caps twice with their B squads. They may have missed Dougie Hamilton tonight but still.... they were 4-0 going in.

Much credit for putting your money where your mouth is. I would be cool with it if you set up somehow anyone who wanted to donate 5, 10,15 bucks whatever to cover at least some of the cost of the jersey.

My overall impression of the team so far is the that they still have a ways to go but the bones seem to be superior to last season's team. Having a healthy Zib is going to be invaluable in getting off to a decent start.

Defense is most likely going to hold us back from contending this season. High upside but way too many variables. Hopefully the version of Trouba and Miller we've seen so far don't carry over to the regular season, but not getting my hopes up

imagine if Kreider gets the 'C' and he turns into the player we saw today... consistently...

unleash it. now he just needs to run around like Blais
Wouldn't that be great? But I think we all know Kreider well enough,.. to know that he will fall asleep for stretches during the season. Consistency has never been his strong suit.

Maybe the "C" is just what he needs to light a fire under him. But it may be just wishful thinking.

Quinn Hughes is more fun to watch, but I only saw 10 mintues of this game, but what did he say or do since Kreider reacted in a pre season game?

I will be honest here I dont enjoy watching Subban play hockey and he talk too much on the ice in the last decade playing hockey.

What did Subban do? Bit of a slew foot on Reaves who ended up injured on the play. Then Subban got ran all night, burned for a goal, ducked being challenged until it was clear he was gonna keep getting ran, and got himself tossed at the end of the game for ???

I hope Miller-Trouba tightens it up, you can see the potential there but both of them need to not play so sloppy. I think it was good to see more of a spark and real aggressive play after the first period and it's going to be up to the coaching staff to keep that consistent. It is why players like Blais and Reaves and Goodrow are useful in that they bring that to the ice all the time and it helps keep the other players on their toes as well. At least, in theory, dunno that it's something that can really be measured

I still dislike the look of the Panarin-Strome-Kaako line. It just doesn’t mesh all that well. I’d really like to see Blais there as a different type of player to compliment that line. That allows Kaako to play with Goodrow and Chytil.

Chytil was utterly disappointing in that game. These young kids need to take a step or they are going to be supplanted by these veteran energy guys who fill roles soon.

The problem with anyone on Panarin and Strome's line so far is that Panarin and Strome rarely use that third guy once they get the puck. Most of the time we don't care if a Blackwell is mostly invisible except for some puck retrievals and being spoonfed some goals, but we want to see more out of someone like Kakko. It'll never happen though if Panarin and Strome won't use him. It's honestly one reason I kind of want Strome gone eventually, hah

Its just the fact that there is just one puck and Strome and Panarin like to have it. They use that 3rd guy for puck retrieval like you said and to play off of for creating some space but Kaako just doesn’t play that type of game. It’s why they excelled with Fast. Blais can play that same style…
