Devils lineup wasn’t very strong. I’m not sure wtf Ruff is doing if he’s still got practically everybody up and only one preseason game left. Different strokes I guess.

Blais is really strong on his skates. Like him a lot so far. Igor had a really good game and Mika looks like he’s ready to go. Fox and Panarin just our resident geniuses. Great goal by Kaapo.

Subban always been like that - almost based his career on it.

The Sammy Blais goal was the type of guts and grit talent I knew he could bring and why he got 2nd line time on the Blues. He has the talent to get 20 goals this season.
His main issue all his career has been staying in the lineup. Has never had more than 40 games in a season.
Hoping Rooney and Goodrow can get 15 goals a piece but 50 goals from the fourth line is certainly really optimistic.

Miller is a project. Hedman struggled big time in his first few seasons as well. Give him time and he’ll be a monster on defense

i mean, there is that possibility. i would say i have a very hard time projecting him as a defenseman that gives you a consistent, reliable, physical defensive game. i just don't see the hockey iq or physicality in him, and thats not something that you can work on...its there or its not. because he's almost certainly not gonna be a major producer...has some tools like the shot and can go end to end, but not a very intuitive player with the puck on his stuck and won't be relied on in that way w/ fox / nils around. that said, certainly not above understanding my read could be completely wrong and you'll be proven correct with time. but given my view i think the value he could bring to a deal is a difference maker and he's a guy we're well prepared with depth to replace in the near term.
