This literally makes zero sense.

If Edmonton trades Ceci & Kulak they can sign both Broberg & Holloway.

Not to mention Kane won't be all that difficult to trade if need be
Ceci and kulak have no trade value. If you need to trade them teams are gonna bend you over and ask for a first with them

Blues doing the one thing I wish more teams did, by announcing their offer sheets.

I'm still convinced there's a ton of offer sheets we never hear about, every summer, because they fall through.
Offer sheets have to be signed by the players before they have any relevance. I would expect that there are plenty of times that teams have tried to get a player to sign an offer sheet, but the player just used that as leverage for a better deal with the team that owns his rights as an RFA. In those cases the O/S is irrelevant, and it would be foolish for a team to announced that they had tried to get a player to sign an offer sheet but he declined.

Because both are better than some of the schmucks that signed on July 1st.

Hell Edmundson signed for 3.85 mil per.

I'm not worried, both Holloway and Broberg will most likely be back.
Yeah if it was so easy the Oilers would have already traded both to teams before free agency and signed Holloway and Broberg. Now they are in a terrible position of teams knowing they are desperate.

Yes, I'm sure they are going to ask for a 1st for a player that has 1 or 2 years left on his deal at a decent cap hit in today's NHL.

Ceci has 1 year left at 3.25 mil per.
Kulak has 2 years left at 2.75 mil per.

Getting Broberg and Holloway for a 2nd and a 3rd would be tidy work for the Blues. The Oilers have to match one or both of these, don't they? They might need to desperately seek a trade destination for Arvidsson and/or Henrique to make some cap space within the next 7 days.

Despite Ceci’s reputation I don’t think either would be that hard to move. NHL GMs always have time for big veteran defensemen even if in Ceci’s case his on ice play hasn’t been good in quite some time.
