Seriously can we lock this thread... http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showthread.php?t=2030461 ...?

All this trouble started after it.

AS for the game, I'm glad i didn't see/hear an part of it I would have been livid if you all were pissed about the refs.

It takes a lot for Jim Fox to bring up officiating and he was very unimpressed.
Quick's tripping call and Bortuzzo/Clifford getting roughing not fighting resulting in Bortuzzo not getting the instigator come to mind

More than anything, I'm semi-shocked McNabb got only 10 min. Probably a function of being w/McBain, but still.

But yeah, 35 minutes this far into a road trip is lol. All I can do with this team's fortunes at the moment is laugh. The play isn't matching the results and I know it will turn around; doesn't make the current trip less painful to watch. And we have to hope for some health too, everyone getting wrecked left and right.

Quick, Gaborik, Kopitar. Expensive road trip.

Can't wait until this road trip is over. Saturday is what, 10 out of 12 on the road? All but a couple against playoff teams. The worst team was Arizona and we all know how that goes. The only other non-playoff team was NJ, who is in 9th.

The good news is 15 out of the last 24 are at home, half of which are against teams that will probably miss the playoffs. I expected the lead to drop on this trip, just not as much as it did. I also expect the Kings will do really well down the stretch.

This may not be the detailed medical report that was requested. But here is a small Kopitar update : Considered day to day

This team will be judged for Playoff success. Would be nice to win the division, but as long as we make it to the Western Final we would hold divisional bragging rights IMO

I don't know what kind of playoff success you think this team is going to have if they're limping into the playoffs playing .500 hockey. Injuries notwithstanding, this team has been abysmal over the past month, with some very obvious holes in the roster.

I can't believe we're going to blow a 12 point division lead.

As of right now, the Kings are tied with Chicago, Philly, Ottawa, Calgary, and Edmonton in post regulation points with 10. Chicago has one of the best regulation records at 28-18-15. The other 4 teams have 4 of the worst regulation records, and are a combined 59-106-65. The Kings are now 23-20-14, which is good for about 15th in total points, and a little bit higher in points%.

The Kings are 15th in regulation wins, and 11th in regulation losses. So it's not too many 3v3 wins, but they're sort of average in regulation, so they're coming back to the pack as a result.

Go back to that home record against Pacific teams, and they're 2-6, but 1-6 in regulation. 14 regulation GF in the 8 games. It was bound to come back to haunt them at some point.

The bad news is they have 7 home games remaining against Pacific teams, against which they're 2-6 so far. Another 6 games on the road against the Central, where they're 2-3 so far. That's 13 of the 25 games left where they're a combined 4-9 up to this point. 3 games against the Ducks, 1 against the Sharks.

The good news is they are due to level out against those teams :D

True, however we have seen this team turn it on come playoff time, and sutter is a very good playoff coach.

LA plays physical and wears teams down over a 7 game series. I would not say I expect playoff success, but it would not surprise me in any way either

In the other 12 games they have left, at home against Atlantic, Metro, and Central teams, and on the road against the Pacific, they're a collective 22-5-1. As long as leveling out is a one way street, they'll be fine.

Well, if it's a winning one way street. If it's a losing one, we could see another 05-06 collapse. The Coyotes aren't completely out of the rear view mirror yet.

'nuff said.

Pretty much tells you all you need to know why Martinez and Muzzin haven't looked great the last couple games, just way too much ice time. We need another defenseman bad.

Could Dowd get the call soon? Is Mersch coming back? Forbort?

Neither Shore nor Andreoff are consistent. Schenn is as blah as what the nicer Philly fans were suggesting. :help: :help: :help:

I would hope so but Sutter seemed pretty laisse-faire about callups across the country.

Schenn is fine, he is what he is and that is a Greene replacement. As a short-term #4 with Martinez, he's good; as a long term guy carrying a pairing, not so much. I still like that move for the different dimension, I think we were really lacking a guy like that on the backend, loved how he blew up that guy on the zone entry last night and loved him immediately stepping up to scary ass Tom Wilson when he blasted Schenn through Quick.

I wonder what Schenn will want as a UFA. I would like to re-sign him but as a relatively young RHD I imagine some team will over pay.

My main problem with him is that he hesitates when the puck is on his stick allowing the other team to get in better position. This happens with his passing, and definitely with his shooting. JMFJ had the head fake, Schenn has the pump fake.
