Doesn't mean Stepan will also be out two weeks. Also, maybe they determine that wearing a cage or something will suffice in Stepan's case, and he'll play next game.

In the old times you wired it shut and went and played the next game.

Of course these are different times and i dont know what the surgery entails and how long you need to recover from that alone, but i would think in this circumstance he would be back sooner rather than later. Game 6 would be about a weeks rest so maybe thats a possibility. But i have no idea. Hopefully this series doesnt go to Game 6. ****ing Habs.

@reporterchris: Michel Therrien on Prust hit: "His intention, honestly, was not to hurt Stepan."â€

Given how his stance on Kreider changed over the course of two days, Therrien will be blaming Stepan by Sunday.

"I think the league should have a look at Stepan and his intentions towards Brandon's shoulder"

Bad news about Stepan - hope for the best in his recovery. Broken jaw can be a pretty dangerous thing - lots of chance of infection, lasting damage, lasting pain. Needs to avoid physical activity for a good 2-3 weeks to be safe.

He's got a small fracture according to Dreger wasn't even seen in the x-rays. I'd say its unlikely he flat out avoids physical activity, in fact, I'd wager if the Rangers make the finals he will play in them.

A small fracture can still be serious, especially in jaw area. Unless it's a very minor fracture, say one made in regular course of play, he'd be best to rest 2-3 weeks and not come back, not risking future career.

When the Rangers make the finals.*

All from a hit to the chest...did not see that coming.

You should probably give Stepan a call and let him know because literally no1curr here.

This could be the closest he ever comes in his career to a Stanley Cup. If there is any way he can play, he is going to play.

Bad news for our Habs, they loose Carey Price for the entire serie because of the collision with the Rangers forward Kreider. Whether we think it was an accident or not, Kreider is the only one who truly knows his intention. Of course this frustrates Price's teammates so I'm curious to see how they're gonna respond and especially towards the Rangers goalie Lundqvist who is their back bone. Important fact to mention, while I was playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins, a night we were playing in Philadelphia, the players from the Flyers kept running into our goalie Marc-Andre Fleury. So I got the green light from Michel Therrien to run their goalie at the time who was Martin Biron. I got fined by the league but
It wad obviously covered by our team... They never ran our goalie again! Live by the sword, die by the sword!

Just saw this tweet and it made me think back to that post.

Therrien was continually asked about his thoughts on Prust hit, and he continually answered with references to Kreider in Carey Price. Wha?

Guess you could draw your own conclusions based on all of that.

It's amazing how the scum factor is growing exponentially every day with the Canadiens, it's a good strategy for them because they can't win the series on merit and have to resort to slimy tactics. Hopefully the team gets back on message and listens to AV to not get distracted. Rangers are just going to get continuously baited on and off the ice, not something that we should be responding to

Not surprised. If you look at Prust's behaviour before and after that hit, he was looking to make a big hit and antagonize/injure, I think.

lol, I mean talk about either cocky or stupid.

Montreal fans saying that we lied to have Brandon friggin Prust suspended. Disgraceful, ***** about Emelin taking out Kreider into his goalie and now this is no big deal. Montreal is literally now #3 on my most hated teams list.

Interesting. On other boards people say he broke his jaw when he hit the ice face down, not as a direct result from the hit. Could very well be true.
