I said this would happen after game 1 in another thread and got blasted for it. Prust was going to take liberties on the team and there is nobody on this team that can hold him accountable for it. He should be suspended for 4-5 games, but if Stepan really can't go with a cage or face guard, it's a horrible trade off. Rangers need to address toughness in the off season with at least 1 guy who can play the game and keep other players honest.

Brassard is day-to-day, and it seems to me that they'd certainly try to get him game ready under these circumstances.

If he really can't go next game, then you have to run primarily 3 centers. Richards, Moore, Boyle. It's not ideal but at least Moore has some offensive capabilities.

One X-factor could be Powe, I don't know if he is game fit but he can kill penalties and hold down a center ice spot.

Miller is raw and the situation sucks but you have to give him a chance if Stepan and Brassard are out. He wil be a big part of the team going forward like it or not. Fresh legs and eyes could help.

I think that is trivializing things a bit. Prust may not be a force on the scoresheet, but he gave the Canadiens something they did not have. Should have seen the furor of excitement among Habs fans when he signed. His absence will mean something, it will.

I don't remember the time frame, but Kreider was able to play in the NCAA's with a broken jaw. Had to drink spaghetti O's through a straw the whole time, but he did it.
