So according to some posters on their board Prust apparently was already committed to the hit and therefore had a split second to decide to not follow through yet Kreider who was on a breakaway and focused on scoring while traveling at a much higher rate of speed had plenty of time to calculate not only how to score, his main focus, but also how to safely fall to prevent injury to not only himself but also Price, hypocritical much?

Hope we come out and wipe the floor with this team and send them and their fans home. They seem pretty entitled for a franchise whose greatest accomplishments for the most part came at a time when there was very few teams and they had a monopoly on talent due to the within 50 mile radius exclusive rights B.S. which continued to reap benefits for them even after the draft was implemented.

I know a huge part of it is the size of the fan base...

If you have 5 million fans and 10% are stupid. That's 500,000 idiots who pollute the internet.

It's still incredibly frustrating to see the logic defying crap that some of these idiots are posting. I surprised some of them can turn on a computer and type.

Also... Rural Quebec...
One of my cousins moved there - not a lot of scholars to say the least...

Unlike other rural areas? I don't think that's a fair assessment.

Regardless, main forums aren't a reflection of any fanbase. And if one pays attention to the Habs forum, the more veteran posters tend to think the Prust suspension was deserved and many don't think the Kreider hit was intentional. That's certainly my stance on both issues, anyway.

I think Prust is a decent player. Not a goon. But I think he had intent to injure in that game in general.

Pretty much this... 3rd line grinder took out god like Price and this is all balancing the Karmic scales

I can't speak for everyone on the boards but I know that the main boards turns out to be a vocal minority but a very loud vocal one

The biggest thing to me are the comments about having better players sitting anyway.

That's where the NHL needs to clean up. Get these guys out of the league.

Prust, Carcillo, Dorsett, Glass, Sestito, Rinaldo etc.

Kreider did nothing wrong. All the BS propaganda from Therrien and the Canadiens notwithstanding. Habs fans continue to complain after their players do the same thing that they ***** about Boston players doing. It would be better if they just played hockey. A 4th liner targeting the Rangers #1 center with the league and officials being complicit. Wonder what will happen if we see Dorsett go knee on knee with PK Slewfoot. 2 games? I doubt it.

haha, now that I would not mind seeing

Statements of Canadiens fans are remaining in place because you don't report their posts to us. Instead, you respond like we have repeatedly told you not to do.

It is a lot easier for moderators to act on reported posts than to try to go through and root out every single problem topic.

With that said, we have told you not to talk about history, politics, national origin, etc. The next user to do so will be excused from the site for the rest of the playoffs.

I appreciate your reasoned approach.

I really don't understand why Montreal fans can't see the obvious. Kreider was tripped. Regardless if he went in skates first, he WAS going to hit Price at full speed no matter what... because EMELIN TRIPPED HIM. Price was getting injured on that play as soon as Kreider sped past Emelin and he was forced to trip him.

Prust's hit was intentional. Simply put. Even if the hit wasn't directed at his head initially, he still followed through and broke a player's jaw. He should have been suspended 40 games through next season. There is no reason why he should the see ice again this year.

I agree. The NHL is going to have to hit players with much harder suspensions if they want to take away these deliberate attempts to injure via the blindside head shot. Two games is a joke. Don't do it and they can expect more Shawn Thornton muggings of Brooks Orpik. It was ugly but it wasn't unprovoked. Thornton went after a guy who concussed Loui Eriksson with a cheap shot. In the lead up to that Eriksson never even had the puck--before or after Orpik clocked him.

For the suspension to actually work it's going to have to make players sit back and think about just exactly how much they want to play in the NHL.

That's fair. I shouldn't have posted those regional stats. Frustration got the better of me.

Would be surprised if he missed more than 1 game tbh. Wouldn't shock me if he's out tomorrow though
