So we lost Stepan with broken jaw. Who can replace him in the lineup or at least take his spot and be somewhat successful? No one comes in mind.

I dont think AV will do it, but I would center Miller with Kreider and Nash to start the game. Him and Kreider have played a good amount together in Hartford, and their chemistry has been evident in the past. Fresh legs this late in the playoffs is a good thing.

If Brassard is back, I think we're more likely to see Moore in Stepan's spot though. Certainly would be an offensive downgrade, but defensively he fits right in. And he's very good on faceoffs. Control possession, get Kreider and Nash the puck.

Getting Brassard back for game four has now become a must. Can you imagine going into the most important game of the year with Moore/Boyle/Miller as our depth down the middle?

Regardless of what shakes out, I'm still confident this team will go back to Montreal up 3-1. Step up time!

Certainly not more physical.

I've rarely seen Miller physically engaged at the NHL level. Fast's last stint he had a few big hits and wasn't afraid of contact at all. I think Fast is the safer bet, Miller is higher risk higher reward IMO

Obi-Wan Brassard, you're our only hope! Without him, hank is going to have to hold them to 1 or less because our lines are going to be a minor-major trainwreck. 2 goals would be a huge achievement for that group...

Maybe Lucic,Thorthon, and other Bruins were on too something with the comments they made about wanting to kill them. There is a lot that goes on during the game we don't hear, to make those type of comments is starting to make sense.

Probably the Canadians are weak as a 2 year old so all they have left is talk and whining. don't forget PK Subban did a mini slew foot on a Ranger as well that wasn't called. At one point during the 3rd Kreider was cross checked 10 time in front of the net. Yet refs like Pollack and Driscoll let them get away with it. Then Prust gets what is basically a 1 game suspension.

The NHL really dropped the ball on this one. After game1, all they had to do was say they reviewed the play by Kreids and call it what is was, a hockey play. Then if Thieren and the rest of the players wanted to continue to bring it up, they would get fined. By not doing this it allowed the French Fairy to continue to whine and to exact some sort of payback on a LEGAL play. IMHO, this play by Prust was premeditated and ordered by Michelle himself

He is a true number 1 center though. Top 30 in points among centers in 2 consecutive seasons and he's better defensively than most of the people who out score him. Is he elite? No. But he is a real #1.

Congrats, you actually get it.

I imagine it's gotta be D.Moore up and Miller/Fast-Boyle-Dorsett (Boyle may be better on wing but I don't know if Miller at center in a must win game is going to be best for us)

Agree. An actual tripping penalty or penalty shot on the Kreider trip would have helped, too, in labeling the trip a trip. Not to mention with how uncommon breakaways are, we legitimately did lose a huge scoring chance. And I agree with you, you can easily see Therien doing that, since he's a whiny ***** and has it set in his head the Kreider play had intent.

The first thing I thought also,it should have been a penalty shot. This incident happens 5 days from game 3, and yet the whining and **tching was getting worse. How can this not be a Premediated incident ???

I'm willing to bet Therien went the "It would be such a shame if one of their tops players got injured (wink, wink)" route. Also, less than 3 minutes in on Stepan who is not known for instigation or dirty play? Obvious intent. Just more Montreal typical ********.

Let's go back to Game 1, the hit on Brass was a late one, not suspendable but it should have been an interference penalty. The French Fairy knew one of the strengths the Rangers had on his team was DEPTH. So in essence they started this crap and basically acting like they are some helpless victim because of a hockey play. The NHL and the smug Canadien media have fallen for it hook, line and sinker

Here is some food for thought.... Stéphane Quintal is the new player safety official and HE HATES THE RANGERS any wonder why prust only gets 2 even after his statements after the price injury

Honestly, as much as I hate the hit, it's tough to just assume that. As a player, you HATE seeing a teammate go down and losing a key player like a goalie is huge. Of course emotions will run high and people will say things. Nothing new there. But to say things when emotions are high and to actually hit the ice to try and injure someone, these are two different beasts. Not to mention, Prust is an energy guy. These guys often play at or just beyond the edge to ignite their team or get under the other team's skin, and they frequently take stupid or ill-advised penalties when they do. Stupid is stupid, but that still does not necessitate there being an intent to injure or premeditation.

A player once suspended by the Rangers when he play with us, the reason " conduct detrimental to the team". If this hit was too Crosby or any other star it would have been a whole lot more

Here is the problem with that explanation. The hit is way late. It comes with less than 3 minutes in. Stepan is the 2nd Ranger center to go down after a late Montreal hit. Prust elevates as he is going to into the hit (both his skates leave the ice) even though Stepan is the same height. There really shouldnt be any doubt Prust was trying to drive his shoulder into Stepan's head. He didn't even fully miss.

Good point, imagine if a Ranger lined up Crosby for a blindside hit like that. It would probably end Crosby's career and the Ranger would be suspended for 5-10 games.

I would agree if this was on the boards and you just don't think and hold up. But factor in two things, first; besides The French Fairy, it was Prust who has been very vocal on Kreids play and second; this wasn't that bang bang type of play. He had time to think what he was going to do, that's why I think it was a Premediated play ordered by his coach

I'm staying off the main board for the rest of the series (or at least until NYR eliminates this sorry excuse for a hockey club). Hearing the so called opinions from those idiots on how Prust's hit was ok or Kreider's hit was comparable is just infuriating me at this point. If I hear accidentally on purpose one more time...

I've come to the conclusion that there are many incredibly stupid habs fans. There are a lot more than any other fanbase I've seen post. Proof? Go to twitter and search Prust. Who are the ones who cannot spell? They're not Rangers fans...

I can only take so much stupid in one day.

Unfortunately their coach and media have alot to do with that. I mean if you really think the Rangers will use a trip to crash into the goalie, then don't have your players trip.

It's better to stay here with your fellow brothers:yo:

It's almost unprecedented if you think about it. I never heard of a player on breakaway purposely running into the goalie. I mean really, c'mon

I know a huge part of it is the size of the fan base...

If you have 5 million fans and 10% are stupid. That's 500,000 idiots who pollute the internet.

It's still incredibly frustrating to see the logic defying crap that some of these idiots are posting. I surprised some of them can turn on a computer and type.

Also... Rural Quebec...
One of my cousins moved there - not a lot of scholars to say the least...
