Injury Report: Stepan Broken Jaw. No timeline. Prust susp. 2 games

League gives a joke of a suspension. There's your reason why the NHL is the 4th sport in this country. All the money and emotions invested in your team throughout the year can be completely wasted by a 4th line scrub, and the NHL just showed they put up with that ****.

90% of the posters here have done nothing but criticize Stepan all season, now all of a sudden he's a #1C lol.

I have a feeling he's going to play Sunday and play with a vengeance. The Rangers will be pissed off. The Habs had to manufacture some kind of emotion into their game. The Rangers had it from Game 1. Just bring the game to them and let the chips fall where they fall.

Regardless of whether people like his game or not, he is this teams #1C. Is a true #1C, absolutely not, but we are a team 2 games from the finals and he is the #1 Center on that team.
 
Stepan has never missed a game in his career right? He'd seriously have to be unable to play to be sidelined

He is a true number 1 center though. Top 30 in points among centers in 2 consecutive seasons and he's better defensively than most of the people who out score him. Is he elite? No. But he is a real #1.
 
Stepan #1 C? Please.

That being said i think all things considered stepan's lucky its just his jaw and not a full blown concussion.

The idiocy from "the land before time" is incredible.

He is absolutely not. But we can agree to disagree there.
 
By definition #1 C means top 30 in the league. He is there offensively and he's better than most defensively. By the definition of 1st line center he is one.

When people talk about a "true number 1 center" they usually mean a top 10 center in the league. That's not a number 1, that's elite.
 
So we play our system still? Yeah we tried that in game 3 and now the series is 2-1 and we're down our top center..their not calling the penalties..it's time to police the game because the refs clearly aren't going to do it

That kind of incompetence would cost me my job, or at the very least jeopardize advancement. Referees need to be held accountable in some way.

We tried that. Got a game misconduct and a guy suspended for 10 games...#toff

Agreed. And again NHL officiating leaves a whole ****ing lot to be desired.

That is just inexcusable. Again, the league behavior in this manner tells me they really don't want these type of hits out of the game.

I know I was just pointing out how some people are complaining that a 4th line took out a 1st liner, and most people here all year were calling a Stepan a 2nd line or calling him slow or saying he has a weak shot. He is important to the team.
 
Meh, it's Brandon Prust. They should let the team with the injured player pick who sits out on the other team for those games. That would stop it pretty quick.

I knew it was going to be bad but not his bad at the NHL caliber. Few years ago I red about a minor league kid that punched a ref and got a lifetime ban, i guess in the NHL you get 10-20 games.
 
Please. For the love of all things hockey, win this series. I cannot deal with your opponents, or anything associated with them.

I will say this; this current Rangers team has a certain camaraderie that is critical to winning in this league IMO. You can't tip toe through an entire postseason and prance and cry to a Cup. I don't think the Rangers are the most skilled team, not even close, but the Bruins weren't either a few years back. TEAMS win when it counts. I think we'll see a really pissed of Rangers squad the rest of the way. MSG is going to be a zoo for game 4, and the next game they play there will be game 3 of the Final.
