Injury Report: Stepan Broken Jaw. No timeline. Prust susp. 2 games

Softness problems. Seriously. League wont make them pay. We wont make them pay. This **** can turn out really nasty.

There's only two series going on. Everybody knew the backdrop of Price getting injured. There's no way four linesmen missed that. Just like that, one scrub player took out our 1C. League gives a joke of a suspension. There's your reason why the NHL is the 4th sport in this country. All the money and emotions invested in your team throughout the year can be completely wasted by a 4th line scrub, and the NHL just showed they put up with that ****.
 
Kreider suffered a broken jaw during his sophomore year. He got hit with a puck. He missed two weeks. Kreider had surgery. He was supposed to miss 4-6 weeks. Kreider came back for the NCAA tournament and BC lost in the first round.
 
This is pretty much what you can expect from the league.

The toughness debates happens a lot on these boards--derided sometimes as 'toffness'--by those who think you can survive as a team just on skill. But the league is not going to really do **** for you when a plug like Prust comes along and deliberately takes out a key player. Sometimes you have to take care of your own. We can go back to the McIlrath draft and if Dylan were ready--if he hadn't had that many injury issues--he might at least be closer and if he were ready he might have pounded the **** out of Prust--the game right after Prust opened his mouth. He'd at least be a major concern for Canadiens forwards around our own goal crease.

To the NHL braintrusts--a 2 game suspension to Prust is a worthy enough offset for the loss of Stepan-- our top center and a player who has never ever missed an NHL game until now. So for those who think the league is going to protect a team from being targeted in this way--it's time for you to admit it's not going to.

The NHL, giving this meat head two game, tells you right where they are at:

I heard a story about the flyers complaining to the league in 69 - 70 and the league told them to man up.....which they did.

....and the rest is history. And for christsakes that is not what I'm suggesting. But you can see why teams look at each other in the room and say BS, lets go get some. It feeds on itself.

But I know that's just falling into the trap right now, blah, blah Fing Blah.
 
Are there MTL fans that are actually happy about this? That's just pathetic. Reading the comments on NHL.com and in the other forum is just pathetic.

I'm actually upset they suspended Prust. He has played like **** for them and unless they're going to star Parros (which they won't) the player replacing Prust might end up being more effective then him.

The big thing was we didn't get the PP, after that, it was all moot. A suspension to a 4th line scrub does absolutely nothing for us and god forbid they put in a kid who wants to prove something. Although I'm assuming it will be Moen.

I think we can still beat Montreal without him providing we get Brassard back.. but we will absolutely need him to have any chance against LA or Chicago if we move on.

They have taken out two of our top players that center our top two lines.

Of course the evil poutine munching dirt bags are happy.

This. The Rangers team is plenty tough. I DON'T want toff goons like Prust.

Toughness doesn't make the ****ing refs do their jobs. And toffness ends up with a 10 game suspension (for whatever reason).

Stepan played with a fractured jaw.. I'm pretty sure he's tough.. Mcdonagh has played all playoffs with his injury. tough.. I agree with blueshirtblitz here this team is absolutely tough enough.

read that on a flyers board awhile back.

People were saying that was reason their org had such a deep hatred for the league for so many years. Then they had to tolerate those yobs slapping them on the back when league attendance shot thru the roof later on.

Yeah, I hate them, but the Flyers had some legit grievances back in the day. They got kicked around like dirty laundry after expansion.
