Guys, as a Coyotes fan I can say most of our board is not happy we had to give Deangelo up. I really hope we offered the 23rd overall pick before we offered him.

Don't let his idiocy fool you, he's a Grade A prospect who could legitimately turn into a star.

Well i have to say, for all the charts people (myself included) threw around in here showing Stepan performing as a top 10 center the return was a bit lackluster.

Again, it's really hard to tell whether or not to like this deal until we see what happens at #7, and with the new cap space.

Looking forward to the posters who had Step's bags packed weeks ago coming in here and complaining about the return not being enough.

Honestly this trade isn't terrible but I think Raanta should have been traded separately for a 2nd.

Stepan alone should have gotten this package.

Regardless this is a good move, we now have two 1st round picks in this draft and the first top 10 pick in years.

Seems like Shattenkirk is all but officially a Ranger and we need center depth now that we've lost Lindberg and Stepan.

Would love to see Duchene on this team.

I am excited about DeAngelo tbh. But still feel if this is the value Stepan goes for, the move is to stand pat.

This trade opens up so many possibilities IMO.

Package the 7th for an upgrade at C. Move the 21st+ for a good roster player. Adds 6.5M in space.

Could there be an NHL ready center available in the draft this year that we can get? I have no idea, just asking.

I followed DeAngelo a lot last year as he was on my team in my deep keeper league. He played lots of minutes and was very productive, especially on the powerplay, but he bounced between the yotes and their minor league all year as he had some maturity issues. From what I understand the Rangers were in on DeAngelo last year before he was moved to Arizona

ok the value honestly isn't "bad" at al but if i knew this is what Stepan would've gone for, i'd have just kept him

They have to have some sort of follow up here.

If the Arizona GM traded the 7th overall pick and first round prospect for a 55-point player making 6.5mill, he wouldn't be doing his job very well IMO.

Yeah, I own him in one of mine too.

He started out last season hot. 9 Pts in 15 GP. 5 in 23 after that, though.

That's two A's gone so far. Wonder how it will affect the locker room.

Every year seems to be the worst draft in a long time, and next year is better.

If we get Necas, Petersson, Makar, or Glass this trade will have been worth it IMO.

Just don't take Rasmussen for the love of god pls Grotans

The Rangers need to help this kid work through his anger issues. We no longer have Stepan to tell him to relax like he did to Lundqvist in the playoffs

On trading of Stepan, I think it's fair to say NYR were concerned where Stepan's game was trending and his four years left at $6.5M

This is an interesting comment.
