Can't judge the trade till we see what we do with the cap space. That said, who is going to play center? Also, just like the Rangers to finally have a nice pick in the worst draft in recent memory. DeAngelo is only 21 and D can blossom late. I don't love or hate it at this point.

Agreed. Even with the cleared cap space, Shattenkirk is far too rich.

Not sure how I feel. Feel like they could have done better. And the team's strength (center) has now been taken away.

He lives and loves NY--in the summer he's in the Hamptons most of his time with the family.

Thinking he may take a 5 year deal to play at home. But I agree if it's 7 years have fun in the sun somewhere else.

Anyone think the Rangers may go after Hanzal to replace Stepan ?
