I don't look at it as just 'hateful words' I look at it as being a f***ing *********, having said that, I am always willing to give people a second chance and know that some kids don't grow up right away.

True. NYR had a guy who joked about other players having cancer here for years.

We'll see. I'm not sure its fair to assume he was dealt this time for character issues. He does fit a NYR need and it makes sense that Gordon would actively ask for him.

i dont see that kid in this draft unless we can maneuver up to grab one of the top 2. not likely.

would love to see lias andersson picked. he's gonna be a stud but he's more of a 2C ceiling.

so many options here.

still calling matt duchene.

hes an f/a in 2 yrs so price will be reduced.

21 OA plus ryan graves and nick holden with 1 mil retained.

Keep calling, Gorton's not answering.

I think for NY it's high risk / high reward ... talent wise ... HUGE upside ... high risk being ... well he could be a clubhouse and PR nightmare.

So far a few in Arizona have said that he didn't have any issues there it was mostly tampa or before. People are looking past the talent. The kid has serious upside. Yes he is young and only played like 35 games last year but had 5 goals and 9 assists. He wasn't just a thrown in

Not for nothing, but, for a fanbase that worships a guy like Avery, who had no filter on his mouth, coming down on a younger kid like DeAngelo. is rather amusing.

And, again, calling someone names is as bad as hitting a woman? Really?

I'm in the Dr.House camp of people don't change. Can't chalk everything up to growing up. The good news is the Rangers won't tolerate anything out of line that will tarnish their image so he'll get the message well enough and keep things in check.

I think I'm one of the few that couldn't stand Avery.

A fair question to ask is...

We all agree Stepan was a huge and important part of the NYR team for many years, and will be almost impossible to replace.

But what is his ceiling exactly? Is he liable to do any better than be a 50-55 point guy for the rest of his 6.5 million contract?

Say we role reverse, and NYR just dealt a high draft pick for Paul Stastny 2 years ago. Would we be thrilled about landing a 1B?

if the choice is a choir boy who needs to become more talented or a maturity issue with a kid who's got high end skills.

my decision is easy.

please remember, nothing stopped us from drafting sean day. he isnt without issues.

high reward potential comes with some risk.

Really, because I'm in the camp that very few people ever remain static.

Oh I think people can change ... it just takes a life changing moment for that to happen usually. I'm definitely not the same person I was when I was 18.

brendan smith
Thats what he said :)

(Shattenkirk , Smith , Deangelo right side).

Shattenkirk is not a defender, all his strengths lies in the offensive game.

Deangelo is very young, and touted to be "the prototypical offensive defenseman", probably meaning his defensive game isn't the best either, at least at this stage in his development.

Leaving Smith... who shoots left handed (both Shatt and Deangelo shoot right handed).

The Rangers aren't clueless. If we know about the character issues so do they. They clearly feel they can work with the kid.

My concern is the gaping hole in our roster. I know many of you are different but prospect don't wet my whistle.

Leave it to the Rangers to
Stockpile 1 st rounder in one of the worst drafts in a long time.
