Last night’s win may become the bigger turning point than winning the first round.

Well their performance was entirely predictable, most urgency we’ve seen from them all playoffs. But just like the D-teasers they are, expect a monumentally fruity effort tomorrow and an ass-whooping handed to them.
Florida looked terrible and nervous all night.

Woll was great and I think he’s the future. He needs game 5 and I think he’s 1A next year while Murray rides the pine or sits in a doctors office.

As an aside, don’t laugh and look at the ref for help if you get punched in the face 3 times, it’s not a great look

We still very very likely lose this series and will immediately return to pitchforks and loathing. Today is a nice reprieve, and Friday now has some intrigue, but man we’ve dug a hole. Some of the accolades being thrown around here are embarrassing.
Yeah, I still feel a bit indifferent until they win game 5. Then things get legitimately interesting. Many teams down 3-0 managed to win game 4 then lose in 5.

Looks like the Panthers know how to manipulate the Refs/rules like the Lightning do. Gudass explodes into Kampf at the whistle and at the end of their loss they crush Rielly and Tkachuk feeds Marner his glove a couple of times.

It is really a shame these guys have not left themselves any margin for error because this Florida team is very beatable.

Think of all of the hard contact, matchup assignments and thankless grunt work Kampf has tirelessly endured over the past 2 seasons for the Leafs. Then the one time he needed a teammate to stand up for him and it was crickets. Shameful.

This was disgusting. Gudas stood there after the hit inviting anyone to do something and of course zero response.

Game within a game.

I'm thinking that there is a message being conveyed to the players to not retaliate. I mean, Schenn should have murdered someone by now.

Thing is, you don't necessarily have to beat the shit out of someone. The Leafs should be pushing, headlocking, giving little punches to the stomach, mouthing relentlessly to Bennett and some of the others. I see none of that either. It's infuriating.

Not only is Florida beatable, we were solid favorites going into the series. Solid game last night, too bad we played like shit in game 3 and it's 3-1 instead of 2-2.

I understand that this was a do or die game for the Leafs but I find it a little unsettling that no one from the Leafs did anything to Gudas after that hit on Kampf which was borderline charging and right at the whistle.

Kampf has been our best forward in Florida.
It wasn't borderline, it was a clear attempt to injure Kampf !!! Gudas came a long way from the blue line to hit Kampf. He did not let up one iota to boot.

If it wasn't charging, then it sure to hell WAS BOARDING, as Kampf was at least a foot out from the boards when contact was made.

I'm 100% confident in saying that if a Leaf, such as Bunting or McCabe, had done this hit, it would have been 5 and a game, followed by a hefty suspension.

f*** the Florida Panthers, and f*** the obvious CORRUPT NHL !!!

Yep, embarrassing. Team like the Leafs show they’re just a bunch of individuals and will never win with crap like that

Still made some idiotic mistakes, but they didn't end up in our net this time.
Nowhere near the same level though... the mistakes from the previous three games were situations where the Panthers couldn't miss if they wanted to ffs.

I watch a lot of curling, and one of the play by play guys makes a great comment that I feel applies to hockey too... 'if you are going to miss (make a mistake), miss the right way'. In other words, we all know the danger areas on the ice, don't f*** up there.

I felt the other players were more engaged and able to cover up some of the mistakes as well.

Tough to go down 2 men in a 1 goal elimination game
That is just it, the refs usually do not call the second penalty. See what Tampa did after the Rielly hit on Point ?? Kutchs gets a penalty for attacking Rielly but no call on Stammer for going after Matty. You have to know when refs will turn a blind eye. They do not call everything by the letter of the law.

I'm a win addict, I just need 1 more win baby. Lets go get it. Sketchin here.

Bingo. Let's also not forget about Mitch sitting there taking about 5-6 slaps to the face from that rat Tkachuk and doing nothing about it. Same thing happened with Matthews a few years ago, with Ben Chiarot, in the playoff series against Montreal. This is why the Leafs can't win in the playoffs. The lack of competitive fire and frankly, spine, team-wide is laughable.
