Best part of the Stastny trade is that it overshadows the Leafs "big" acquisition of Plekanec. Cute that they got Plekanec and sweet that he waived for the Leafs, but that's minor stuff...
Hahahha!
I wouldn’t be surprised if he wears #11. I’ve been following his career for a bit and he has worn it before.
Stastny is 55.2% in the faceoff circle (1227 faceoffs taken). Fits in really nice down the middle joining Little 56.3% (1052 faceoffs taken), Scheifele 51.6% (929 faceoffs taken) and Lowry 55.1% (543 faceoffs taken).
We are tough down the middle.
I have to say I really don't get your perspective at all. Why not sit back and enjoy the fact that the Jets have one of the best teams in the NHL like most Jets fans are? No need to retreat to the bunker and mutter about all the old stories. Sure, it might not turn out, but I think it's great that they now have a legitimately good roster that is young, and supported by a very good prospect pool. Call it luck, or credit whoever you want if you can't see anything positive about Chevy, but at least try to enjoy the moment. There are a ton of other fan bases that would love to be in our position. This post, like almost all of yours in this thread, is unhelpful, shrill, and combative.
The "naysayers" are just people expressing concern over such a high price paid. In that group you have very reasonable posts expressing that concern from people who both support and don't support chevy.
I imagine that you're a real peach at parties; someone says something you don't like and you get in their face and yell at them. If you're invited at all.
The fact is this deal puts pretty high expectations on a club with literally zero playoff wins. The playoff experience in this group is virtually nill, Stastny does help with that. But at this point a first round exist yesterday would have been a huge let down. Now it's a disaster. That's a lot to gamble on and a lot to put on the shoulders of a very young club. Now, if you'd like to respond in kind with actual discussion instead of the same old boring talking points and personal attacks. that'd be great. But keep in mind not everyone worried about this trade is anti chevy.
Did I call that or what?
Thats funny because I connected the dots yesterday. Even said the Blues needed to retain 50%The TSN insiders are pissed no one told them
I am enjoying it. A lot. So... there's that?I have to say I really don't get your perspective at all. He wore 62 before so that would be cool. That number will never be worn by a member of the Winnipeg Jets

Great, now I have to find out whats going on with Heather Locklear
Why didn't you bring your passport. Everyone know Minnesota is really just southern Manitoba
JMO...
This is a high price to pay ( I never thought trading a 1st round pick was really a good idea ) and a gamble. And if the Jets do bow out in the 1st round I guarantee that people who are positive about the trade today will be calling for Chevy's head.
But having said that, I do believe it's worth the risk but not for me or any fan of this team... I think it's a good move at this time for the group of people being overlooked who could greatly benefit by this move... the players.
We have players who are playing the best they have ever played. Or players who this season could be the best they ever play. All the cogs are connecting at the right time, and for the first time in franchise history, we have decent goaltending. And for the players like Wheeler ( a UFA after next season ) and players who's contracts are coming up like Lowry, Armia, Enstrom, Trouba, Poolman, Morrissey, Hellebuyck, and now Stastny, but mostly for the players who believed in what the Jets were doing, players who signed in this frozen wasteland with bad WI-FI.... the time is right to go for it.
It may or may not work out, but I think trying and going "all in" sends a better message to your players than well, maybe next year depending upon our draft picks. The players don't care about next year... they want to win now. This trade might help that.
