Can we just take a second and thank St. Louis for their timely loosing streak. It landed us (what I consider) a better player than I originally thought possible (Brassard, Plekanec).

I understand the giving up a 1st angst but still think we end up with one on draft day. Chevy will still want to move a combo of Petan, Dano, Matthias, Trouba and Myers depending if we can get Trouba to sign.

You don't get this opportunity a lot in a franchise. With this many good players on cheap contracts it's a smart gamble to go for it imo that won't set us back regardless of the outcome. Good job Chevy!

Hilarious Wikipedia edit by a disgruntled Blues fan I'm assuming? I screen capped it right after the Stastny trade, it's since been changed

I was pretty hesitant at first for my initial reaction but reading about Stastny from Blues fans and reading this argumentation now, I guess you are right and I should be happy about it.

I definitely think this is better value than Ladd for Dano / 1st.

2015 draft was loaded, and this draft is said to be pretty shallow. Really doubt that a prospect as good as Roslovic will be there late 1st.

Excellent trade, lines look really good now and there's enough center depth for the inevitable playoffs injuries. Can't wait to see Stastny set up Laine and Ehlers.

Now just add one piece of depth on D if that's at all possible.

Chevy never shows his cards...... I'm beginning to love that man.

Same here. He is probably the worst interview in hockey. Almost impossible to listen to. But that is probably an asset in the end because he makes shrewd moves when it counts.

Most of Chevys mistakes were in the early years...showed too much loyalty to certain marginal players. His biggest blunder by far was the length of Pavs contract...which handcuffed this team and as a result the Jets basically wasted last season with poor goaltending. He has learned from that and it reflects in Masons and Helles short term deals.

One of the concerns of being a small market/small arena/ canadian team was how much would ownership be willing to invest. With the Stastny trade it shows this organization is willing to go all in to win a stanley cup.

People mistake patience for mistakes. Pavelec was a mistake, but in the context of the media at the time saying players would not be willing to play in Winnipeg, I can almost forgive this one. Stuart was just sad and I got nothing. They pooched that big time.

And after all without those moves there's probably no Laine.

My question is if St. Louis is playoff bound or not. I'm guessing they for sure battle for wild card with Dallas/Winnipeg/Nashville in the top three.

Hoping Dallas/Nashville because I just know Dallas beats Nashville in 7.

Can’t wait to see him out there in a Jets jersey with the boys. We’re definitely a force up front, especially now.

Hahahha!

I wouldn’t be surprised if he wears #11. I’ve been following his career for a bit and he has worn it before.
