A bankrupt organization in a non-cap (for the most part) league winning multiple rounds and being a 1 goal swing from making the final.

Vs.

The second wealthiest organization in the league (and all of the organizational advantages such as coaching, management, training facilities that should be able to provide nevermind being able to consistently spend to the cap) winning 1 round in almost a decade.

Tough one.

I guess if there is one lesson for Sens fans to learn from this Leaf’s team is that everyone loving each other and being best friends doesn’t do anything for your 16W. Chemistry is important, having people to deal with Radko Gudas is more importanter.

The entire Leafs roster was about to jump into a 23 man hot tub together after game 5, but that team with all that friendship and talent went 5-6.

They made a conscious choice to fill those positions with skilled players instead of enforcers and checkers.
certainly it had nothing to do with them having all the necessary information at their disposal that allowed them to fill those positions with skilled players under contracts providing the "best bang for your buck "
Seattle is so fun to watch. How refreshing it is to fill your roster's bottom 6 with speed and skill instead of size and lack of skill.
just as much fun watching them handpick players from every team during the expansion draft... I get its for the greater good and wellness of the league but it literally discredits the importance of drafting, player development and is kind of a slap in the face for teams that actually spent years on each step . Seattle and Vegas each wanted to join the league it wasn't the league begging them to join. Fine ,come and join but prove you belong in every aspect required for a franchise to achieve success and sustain it. F that ! thats too hard, instead we will allow you to hand pick your team with players from every team in the league and you'll actually have years to plan it and for good measure you''ll get to pick in the draft no lower than 5th and as high as first.

Both GM's deserve credit for not screwing up and for building competitive teams. Maybe next expansion draft the league will just guarantee a playoff spot as a welcome gift.

This consensus that the Canadian hockey market is somehow tapped out and has zero room for growth when this country welcomed a million new immigrants in the span of a single year - the vast majority of whom have likely never seen a hockey game in their lives - makes increasingly less sense to me.
Wow a million new people across Canada? Maybe if there were 300 million immigrants in the span of a single year we could start to match the American market lol

The thing is hockey getting out to those million immigrants will likely sort itself out on its own because everyone they speak too will likely be into hockey.

You guys dunk on Toronto and it’s fans but when it comes to baseball and basketball some of not
Most of you cheer right alongside those scum.

Yes, the 92 pts panthers are president trophy caliber…

And again, I never said they aren’t good, what I’m saying is you are over rating them which is becoming more and more evident with every post.

Great teams get beat in the playoffs, it happens every year. Clb swept a 128 pts president w trophy winning Tampa team, that didn’t make clb presidents trophy worthy.

Take your own advice, just stop.
They literally just beat the presidents trophy winner snd won it last year. Now theyre in the conference final. They're good. You're in denial.

If it's the right trade, I would take a guy who can score 25-30 goals and be a fast, aggressive forechecker and a 3rd line rw for dbc. Both have to be under contract.

That's my wish list if he has to be traded.
They need allocate the Debrincat money to 3 guys like that if they can. 2 at the very least. With Norris back he or Giroux slide up to the first pp. Team will be way better 5 on 5 and harder to play against. Duclair, Brown and Formenton would look great on this team right now.

Me, days later, scrolling through the Leafs post series thread

I'm not in denial, I just understand the concept of league wide parity and the impact Health and goaltending can have in 7 game series.

They aren't the same team that won the president's trophy last year, that team had Weegar and added Giroux to finish the year.

There is one baseball team and one basketball team in all of Canada. It makes sense for the Canadian media and fans to rally behind them. There's 7 hockey teams in Canada, and yet the media acts as if there's only one, and that everyone is rooting for that one team.

Bruh I only cheer against raptors and jays. You know when they lose it shows the crowd and there’s people crying? Those are leafs fans crying too.
