The penalties have been warranted. Unless you want them to go extreme rules then, it’s gonna get called. Both teams have to be a lot more disciplined.

Really? These teams aren’t playing any different than they were in the regular season.

How do teams go from 2.xx and 3.xx penalties per game to 7.xx and 8.xx??

You might be, but I am not. I am going with the Leafs were dominated in the first period , and that 2-0 flatters the Leafs, but the Leafs still have a chance.
They absolutely do. This game is far from over. But they really really need the next goal…

If the leafs lose this series, I can imagine how badly they'd have gotten curbstomped in the last couple years if they met.

The lightning won the cup in July and were back in camp in September. That's insane. And oh yeah, they won the cup the year before too.

They don't look as crisp to me as the past couple years, which is to be expected since they are playing too much hockey, but it looks like it's still alot for the leafs to handle.... A team that has alot of long summers with their early exits.

Crazy.

115 point season. Great move to pick up Giordano… awesome team.

And he still might get fired.

Drawing Tampa in round one… I mean how unlucky can you get?
This was the “all in” season, they won’t get any better than this

You have to pick one and stick to it until players adjust... But that means calling it the same in preseason game 3 and game 7 double overtime of the Stanley Cup finals.

You need to have a known consistent standard of what is and isn't a penalty no matter when it happens.

I subscribe to the "in game management and calling things differently at different times Is complete bullshit".

I don't care if they call things more tightly or more loosely, just always have it consistent.

I don't wanna see a team get called for a stick tap on the glove because that team is up 5-0 in preseason, but then won't call it when down 2-1 with a minute left in a playoff game because "the refs don't wanna decide the game"...but logic would dictate it's not the ref deciding the game. It's the player hitting the other player in the gloves with his stick that decided the game.

Agreed, I do think there will be an awkward phase-in of the new standard. The game is so fast though, shit happens. Not sure if a split-second decision is worth the two minute advantage. At the same time, letting things go is also a slippery slope.

You're acting like line management is going to make a huge difference? Every game this series has been won by the team with more heart/drive. I guess a coach can help fire up players but they need to fire themselves up.

Let's hope there is some shouting going on in Leafs dressing room
No, I don’t really care about the coaching either way in Toronto. I’m just replying to the dude who says the Leafs should lose game six too so they don’t lose out on Trotz — I don’t think Trotz is making up his mind for a few weeks

I can only tell you what I’ve seen.

Should the refs not call the too many men? Or should the teams smarten up?

South Park got it right about the government. They don't really give a shit about the tiny percentage of people who fall victim to drinking, drugs, and gambling.
What episode? I'm a huge fan and have seen every episode many times but can't draw a conclusion off the top of my head.

They don't give a shit about any tiny percentage..I notice they try to satisfy the most possible amount of people they can (for votes). You can't satisfy everyone. Any small percentage of anything usually falls through the cracks when votes are involved.
