I don't know, there's definitely something to gaining some confidence in the playoffs before meeting the heavy hitter. When is the last time the Leafs won a first round series? That in of itself is a lot of pressure. They're a young team, confidence means a lot, and drawing an easier first round opponent could have done wonders.
