Gary Thorne is the gold standard to which all others should be judged.

I'm sure everyone has that one voice from their childhood or earliest memories of hockey they feel this way about. But damnit...Give me Gary Thorne and Bill Clement and I would be a very, very happy camper.

Exquisite preparation by both. They could talk of Shjon Podein's car only driving in reverse at the AHL level just as easily as they could wax poetic on Borque, Sakic and Forsberg. They would applaud the likes of Klemm and rave about Messier swapping from forward to d and back. And it was never an Avs fest. Another big plus for those guys was that it was always treated as a national broadcast where they probably at most split it 60/40 in favor of whoever the home team is and I'm more than okay with that.

Looks like they’re blaming Skinner, Nurse and Draisaitl. Seriously though, Draisaitl has been horrible. McDavid isn’t scoring either but at least he’s somewhat noticeable, but Draisaitl is a complete no show. You know how Mikko would frustrate some of us here? Draisaitl has been much worse

Skinner giving up 4 or 5 more goals than an average goalie would save? That's actually good for Skinner's standards.

Skinner giving up 4 or 5 more goals than HE would normally give up? That's Jack Campbell in the AHL level bad.

I like to imagine alternate history timelines. What happens if the Penguins beat last place Chicago in game 82 last season? Panthers miss the playoffs and don't go on their run last playoffs. Do they still make the Finals this year without that experience?

That’s a problem for teams who have couple of big stars like that and think they can win with them without having depth like it’s the NBA. I really thought Edmonton had a chance though, the way they made the finals, but goes to show you how much deeper Florida is.

They’re honestly so similar. They look terrible for half of the game, but somehow always produce. They both get sulky real easily, whether things don’t go their way as well
