Tampa has smart management. Nashville doesn’t.
In terms of straight line speed maybe but that says nothing about his ability to accelerate and carry the puck while doing so.
exactlyStamkos signing in Nashville reminds me so much of Messier signing in Vancouver.
He's 35. What exactly were you expecting? He score 50g 100 points?
That's kind of weird, yeah. I don't really buy that he's one of the faster players at this point. At least not in any way that's impactful. He really hasn't been explosive since he broke his leg, and the last few years his speed has been average-ish.The weird thing is that the skating speed stats show that he's still one of the better skaters in the league

Trash.
They forgot this one
Something closer to the middle of what he is and that.
Oh? But speed was the attitude Stamkos was known for, in addition to the shot. At least before he broke his leg. That's kind of weird, yeah. Can't even describe how frustrating it is to see Stammer in Nasville.
It's clear that he was Tampa's product in last few years and it would be really stupid to expect a 35 year-old veteran forward to lead your team, especially in a new place, but oh man... His own goal is like hitting a rock-bottom. Things simply can't get worse from here. At least he got 8x4 contract.
