Stamkos is Cooked

I don't know if he's playing hurt but if he isn't then he's washed up. Looks awful out there. What a terrible signing.

He is 35 and started at age 18
I think his decline is the norm, players like Ovechkin and Crosby are the exception.
At least he has 3 more paychecks...

I'm bias of course

But he seems miserable. Not because he's in Nashville, but because he probably thought and felt his entire career would be in Tampa. Can't say I'm surprised he looks bad this year, he's human.

As for the contract, yikes.
*Biased.

Sorry, pet peeve.

You can have a bias, but you can't be bias.

You can be biased though.

He was offered to stay in Tampa… and it seems like he chose the check over chemistry and comfort.

No lockouts coming up so no free buyouts to save the Preds there.

Would any team be desperate to take his contract at half off? Maybe...4 million not terrible with the cap boost.

To be fair the deal they offered him was a little insulting.. 3 million per for 8? When he'd be lucky to play for 5 more seasons.

After tax and everything he'd lose what? 15 millionish dollars? That would sting

I think they'd have to bring in a 3rd team to get him down to $2m. At that price you'd get a few takers.

4m, maybe, but not much return.

Yup. But was a super star before we ever heard of Kuch
Yeah... but then came the broken leg. And then came Kucherov.

Not that Stamkos wasn't great, but a lot of the numbers were smoke and mirrors. Not all, of course.
