You and I have a very different definition of "fine." I don't disagree with your overall idea, but a rookie call up would be better suited for some other time later in the season when you can sit McNabb in lieu of the rookie, not bump a guy who was supposed to be #7 this year up to the second pairing.

I kind of agree with damacles, I would rather call up Forbort now to get him some experience rather than have last year happen with two defensemen going down in the playoffs and his first NHL minutes coming in a playoff game.

But Martinez/McNabb and Greene/Forbort pairings are extremely riskey. McNabb has handled a lot of minutes this year and has gotten better but still.

If RR is out longterm I think we might see Lombardi make a move but I would rather see Forbort than McBain again lol.

Awesome, I wake up here on the East Coast (was too tired to stay up and watch the game) and what do you know, Kings made a comeback, Kopitar got 5 points... I guess Santa came already. Pinch me someone!

Great... just hope this marks a turning point.

Or else I'll just have to go to bed before the game starts...:sarcasm:

The Blues being exposed as a mentally weak joke? What year is this, 2013 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 every year?

It's a series of events like the last few games why the Kings have had such success the last 3 years. They're not perfect by any means, they don't win every game, but name a more resilient team in the league. The Kings put themselves in a position to have to be that resilient, but they make it work. The Kings lose after a bunch of goals in the 3rd by the Blues, and in the next game, a bunch of goals by the Blues again in the 1st period. They come back to tie it, then Quick lets in a bad goal. They come back again, and then win it. It was almost the same script from Game 7 against Chicago.

Like the 3 Game 7's on the road last year. If you put the 80's Oilers, or the 70's Canadiens, or some team like that, in a position to have to win 3 Game 7's on the road, my guess is that they would be able to do it. They never had to of course, because those teams were far more consistent than the Kings, not to mention the larger gap between teams back then.

That's why the first 2.5 months of this season have been frustrating, but also why you can't write them off, no matter how disjointed and flat they look at times.

I was sorta re-hearing the good ol "Ozzz-Good" chant after Brodeur got snookered by Stumpel's, er King's, bouncer from the neutral zone.

I was ready to trade everybody after the first 12 minutes -- especially Anze Kopitar's T-Shirt Company. Fun game after that.

I missed a hell of a game by the sounds of it. This morning I actually read this thread while watching the highlight package lol.

Is Stoll hurt? I thought I read he was feeling the effects of something on the bench.

So can anyone pinpoint when Regehr got hurt? Any idea how long he's out? I'd be shocked if Forbort didn't get his first cup of coffee.

Kopitar was outstanding, went from his worst game in a long time to his best.

And it's always nice to get a win against the Blues and Backes, the God of Whine.

Gaborik has been fire lately. I hope he can keep it up and stay healthy along the way. That Muzzin goal was definitely nice. Like OD said, changing the angle and then pushing the puck forward is hard to do. Nice to see Kopitar and Carter play their best games of the season...

Carter's skating to score on that 2 on 1 was a thing of beauty.

check it again.

Another thing I noticed. Muzzin scored on the PP but there were 4 Kings skaters on the ice.

Five. Doughty was behind the play. Watch the replay again, when they celebrate he comes into the picture.

I was thinking the same thing last night. Reminded of game 7 verse Chicago as well.

After St. Louis made it 3-0, you could sense this "enough is enough" moment with Kings. The infamous flip of the switch. When they made it 3-1, I knew we were gonna win the game. They had that playoff like hunger in their eyes. Hopefully this ends up being one of those turning point games.

Dean Lombardi says Regehr out two to three wks- Schultz on the way

Oh well, so much for MR getting a chance to shepherd TP and TT. Don't like Lewis there, faster doesn't mean smarter or better. And that line showed little to nothing last night in the way of generating offense. But Lewis is Sutter's favorite...

Figured. Well if he plays like he did in Round 2 against the Ducks, we should be okay. It would've been nice to see Forbort instead but I think Lombardi wants stability back there right now.

No the same situation as last year, no Mitchell now. Greene McNabb and Schutlz isn't a strong bottom 3, but this may cause DL to pull the trigger on that Defensemen he's been shopping for since October, rather than wait until the deadline. Knigs D has not been as good this year.

I'd like to have seen Forbert as well,.

When he gets sent back to Manchester, he'll be exposed to waivers, correct? Given how teams are looking for defense, does anyone think we might lose him? I know we signed him to a two tear deal to reduce that from happening, but teams are desperate for D help right now
