Was laughing out loud at that King goal. I thought it was just the Staples Center ice trolling Brodeur, but when I found it was King who shot it, well...the troll face was working to its full effect.

I said the other night I was done watching this team.

Today, I spent 150$ to go see them live and alternated between punching my wallet and elation

Watching us pour it on like that is why most of us get so frustrated when they just chill for 2/3 of the year, haha. Wow. Madness. Also liked Brodeur's bad shortstopping on King's infield grounder.

Masochist.

I may have missed it, but is Regehr dead? I noticed he didn't play much late in the game and Doughty posted some insane ice time IIRC.

Fascinating stat:

First four periods and OT of the first game: 0 goals between these two teams.

Last five periods: 17 goals.

I am hoping Forbort gets a cup of Coffee, he is playing really well in Manchester.

People need to see Forbort play, a lot people have an opinion about him, and have never seen the guy live.

Sutter reads this forum:

On the 6-4 win:
Well, I thought it was pretty good. Usually a couple of you guys are burying us when we get down one goal, so just for us to come back’s a mild miracle.

Looking at the King goal, I think it gets deflected down by a Blues player, then bounces back up over Brodeur when it comes down to the ice.

It's perfectly fair to get down on the team when they go down 3-0 in the 1st.

Perhaps, but I always got the feeling the Kings were dictating play in the 1st period, and thus, the entire game. Blues took complete advantage of the PP and had two great deflections on the first two goals.

But Quickie has to have that fourth goal. Unless you guys saw something I didn't see, that was just brutal.

That game the Blues were very fortunate to score four goals. Score should have been 6-2.

The Blues were out of the game from Puck drop, they were awful 5 on 5. It's why Hitch looked daggers at his players all game long.

The PK is struggling, but the Kings adjusted , and stayed out of the box in the later stages.

Reeves took one of the dumbest penalties I have seen. He hits Stoll a full three or four seconds late after the puck is gone.

Reeves is going to cost the Blues a playoff game.

Quick let in one awful softy, that goal was just bad, it was good to see the team pickup Quick.

Injured in the second period. We'll know more tomorrow.

What, are you new? :) "Body injury, out till he's back"

I just don't see any chance in hell of a rookie getting a shot right now.

Doughty/Muzzin
Martinez/Greene
McNabb/Forbort

No way.

Perfect time to call up a Rookie and see how he plays, especially a rookie that the Kings have long term investment in.

Schutlz is the playoff step in Vet insurance plan. This is the regular season, and a perfect setting for a rookie to come up and play.

What if the Kings lose two or more Defenders come playoff time, and didn't give anyone a cup of coffee from Manchester during the regular season ?

Then you have HAVE to call up a rookie who has never set foot on NHL ice, in the playoff's....

Doughty/Muzzin
A-Mart/McNabb
Greene/Forbort is fine.

See what happens when the best players perform? This was much needed and hopefully is the game we look back at as a turning point in getting these guys going.

Jake Muzzin's last 20 Games played:

3G 13A 16P +4....

Guy is a freaking Stud.

He's been awesome, but I'm not gonna lie I'm concerned at the number of minutes the whole D is getting what with the Voynov thing and the injuries. Muzzin was trying to throw hits tonight and bouncing off guys like a superball. Can't be good for the long term overall energy of the defense. Doughty MIGHT be able to handle it given his talent, but guys like Muzzin and Martinez simply can't soak up this many minutes regularly and hold up over the course of 82+playoffs.

You and I have a very different definition of "fine." I don't disagree with your overall idea, but a rookie call up would be better suited for some other time later in the season when you can sit McNabb in lieu of the rookie, not bump a guy who was supposed to be #7 this year up to the second pairing.

Per Elias: @LAKings last had 3 players w/ 4+ PTS in same game on Nov. 13, 2005 at CBJ (Alexander Frolov, Pavol Demitra: 4; Craig Conroy: 5).

Whoa :amazed:

Except the NHL took one assist from Gaborik and gave it to Kopi. So it still hasn't happened since that night. So only 2 players with 4+.

If he realizes there's a pass button as well as a shoot button imagine how good he'll be!! On the goal he scored, before he went around the defender Muzzin had a huge lane for a pass to a wide open Carter.... so frustrating.... at least the puck went in.

Gaborik/Kopitar/Carter.... they just destroyed one of the better defensive teams in the league. Sutter's a genius for coming up with this!!! Imagine if they get some time together and get some chemistry going.

Thought Clifford looked real good tonight... everyone was skating and playing with some passion....

Brown looked good too... think he needs to move back to the right... It seems easier for him to skate the puck up on the right side being able to protect it better.

Is this GDT the most manic-depressive thread of the season? :)

I've been burned too many times.... thought Gabby/Kopi were going to start the season on fire.... Thought we'd be seeing games like this for the last 20 games or so... Now it was a ****ing awesome game!!!! But I'm going to hold back the excitement because this is still the regular season and.... yeah....
