Good game. We were on the right side of some fortunate bounces in the second, and that ended up being very important as Miss brought it to within one in the third. We probably lose that game as often as we win it.

Liking Martin on the first line. Does not look out of place at all, and the third line is clicking the way it is.

Also really liking the defense. Evans played great today with some great breakout passes and also showing some offensive instincts. I thought Gibson played well today too, wich I know was starting to be concerning.

Charlie giving up less than 3 goals and save % over .900 is excellent. Improve his personal stats with this. More importantly improve his confidence.
Unfortunately he's at .874% for the season. I'm happy to see more performance like this.

The fact that this team is in first place, despite the second worst goaltending duo in the league (by save%) says a lot about how well the rest of the team has played.

Just wanted to add, that game today is probably one that we lose a month ago. Once we let them get within a goal, it might have all unraveled earlier in the season. We should recognize the growth.

How does a team win 5-2 on the road and only get 1 game star?
Porter Martone stood at our blueline half of the game and looked tired/lazy (more likely the former). I can't possibly see how one would think he's better than Charlie Schenkel.

almost a perfect weekend. unfortunately we left a point on the table in Erie but it was nice to see our goals against stay low all weekend.

and don't look now, that saggy team some felt were no good has won 10 in a row. soo/london/saggy are neck in neck!

Ah, but which team has more necks with beards on them?
Fair enough. World juniors and OHL championships is undeniably neck beard season. We'll see who has the most "scott niedermayers" after the trade deadline.

nice to see the hounds recognized. those lists aren't worth much but it still stings when they give us the cold shoulder.

Next two games are going to be a doooooozyyyy
Looking forward to a home and home with Saginaw. Saginaw on a 10 games win streak. Very impressive stuff. Don't want to take anything away from that streak as it's very difficult to do in Junior hockey, but to give it context these are the teams they beat in the last 10 games:

Windsor x2
Niagara x2
Sarnia x2
Erie
Flint x2
* Mississauga

* only team over .500
