Go figure, we cannot beat Erie and the Kitchener Rangers destroyed them a few nights ago. With this very inconsistent play I don't think we can compete with the London Knights or Kitchener Rangers this year.
I would say that overall so far this year, I am somewhat disappointed in Bryce MBarker and Andrew Gibson. Given their age and experience, they should be making more of an impact on this hockey team.
Dean and the players always acknowledge what they are doing wrong but they NEVER correct it.

Go figure Erie played their #1 goalie against the Soo..

Can’t please the entire crowd. At the start of the year you all were asking for this type of a start to the year to prove we are real, we got a solid start and now the goal post gets pushed back and you wanted a better start.

I remember reading posts from people that said we’d be garbage this year lucky to be in playoffs and now those same people are discussing a possible run. Relax and enjoy the game for once, they don’t sign your cheques or put food on your table… let it unfold

The Greyhounds went into this year with plans…. People are questioning what we should do ( buy or sell ) and don’t realize we already started the buying in the offseason by burning a 7th overall import pick on a rental, one year player. Adding Jack Beck a player with CHAMPIONSHIP experience was step two.

“ I’d like to see where the hounds are at the 20/25 game mark” is something I read a lot of. Tonight is game 23.

Just to note, Erie didn't play Ben Gaudreau on Tuesday against Kitchener (no idea why not) and kept their BUG in for all 10 goals. Erie also played a great home game against London last Sunday and won 4-2. It's junior hockey, any team can win on any given night. Ask Petes fans.
Right? As if Petes didnt just lose to the Windsor Spitfires or anything. lol.

What championship did Jack Beck win?

Watched a lot of hockey at a lot of different levels. Sometimes you lay an egg and the coach says burn the tape - there is nothing useful to gain from reviewing it. When the effort isn't there you can't really evaluate the performance.

The problem I have with these Greyhounds is that we still haven't had a full 60 minute effort. And it hasn't even been close. How do you evaluate where a team is at, what the team is lacking, and what holes need to be plugged when the effort isn't there? Eventually you start to question whether or not this is the group that you want to bet is going to put it all together.

Bringing up the Petes as a comparison does not help your case. Sure, they might have laid an egg against Erie but the Petes have already put forth many more efforts that would be considered closer to a complete effort than the Hounds have.

I've been reading that a lot as well. And i wanted to sell at the start of the year, but was waiting to see where they'd be after 25 games.

At game 23, I'm still of the sell mindset. We aren't good enough imo to contend. I'd rather build around the younger core. I feel we'd have 2 of the best 07s in the league and cloutier and mignosa as OAs.
I think a lot of us just see the weakness and cracks in this team. It's not to say they're not fun to watch or they aren't one of the better teams, it's just that most of us look objectively at them and see the road to a championship is really, really steep

Selling would send such an awful message to the team. Teams that sell from first place are always mickey mouse organizations that never contend.

I'd sell bmb or stand pat. I remember a couple years ago when London sold when they were in 2nd place. Cause they knew they wouldn't win. But they're a mickey mouse organization.

If kitchener sells they're a mickey mouse organization?

Kitchener shouldn't sell if they keep this up.

Didn't get to watch tonight. Did they finally put together a solid 60 minute effort?

Great game

Brantford commentators mentioned multiple times how this team is on another level and are going to contend for the OHL championship.

I just don’t see how selling is a logical option right now at all

Myself, I wouldn't put too much stock into what announcers of a home team getting pummeled would say.

But if a sell isn't in the books, which it may not be, a stand pat is what I'd do.

Just my opinion. I'd hate to go all in to lose in the second round. Again

Bulldogs crew might be the worst.

I actually really enjoy Reed. Bulldog crew knows what it’s like to win a championship in case you forgot.

Of all options standing pat is the worst option and historically has lead to nothing, then posters will complain about how we tried to win but didn’t add after the season. If they want to win they’re going to give the team and city the best possible chance.

I think it’s sell ( past that) or buy.

2 game suspension to Julian Fantino

Hopefully it's the same lineup again (Schenkel can play though). Need to keep the ball rolling. Consistency is the most important thing at this stage.

Can anyone reconcile the following for me?

1) Carlisle and Gibson were the second pairing, according to the lineups posted on the OHL website.
2) Carlisle was a +4 and Gibson was a 0 in plus/minus for the game.

???

According to the score on the site, Gibson and Carlisle were never on the ice at same time when goals were scored. Gibson was out for one goal against with the younger McConnell-Barker as his partner. Gibson was also there for a plus with Brodie. Carlisle being out there for 2 shorties helped with the disparity as well.

I was just wondering if something happened to shake up the lines. An injury perhaps? A benching? Agree the two shorties padded Carlisle's stats on two goals that the D had nothing to do with.

Holy, mississauga announcers have said that they have played 3 in 3 like 10 times. Quit making excuses before there is even a goal. As if the hounds haven't been put on 2000 kilometers already this trip lol.

How we playing? Just got home in time to catch the 3rd
