first thing the hounds need to go out and find a legit starting goaltender, no?

Yes, but who is out there available?
North bay kid or Peterborough kid maybe? Both would be very costly, Peterborough kid because he can play as an OA. surprised they didn’t just draft George vs miller, George is a good starter already

I agree. If any team should see thunder bay kids, it should be us. And his mom is from here haha.

whatever Raftis does, he cannot include Martin or Hayes, or future draft picks in any trade he
may make this year.
Now if he can improve the team with player in , player out scenario, all the power to him.
possible candidates to be traded : Fantino, Kostov, Brown, ?

What? He can’t include future draft picks lol what are you talking about

There are a few players who need to be better, he is one of them. Good job tying it up to force OT. Still something missing with this group though. I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling yet about our chances this season.

If they are serious about doing anything this season they will have to address the goaltending at some point. Otherwise there isn't much point in adding unless there is a huge turnaround in goal.

The Soo
this team is out in the 2nd round.

we are a starting goalie, a top 4 defense and two top 6 forwards away from being a contender imo.

anybody else feeling deja vu?

The thing is, most other teams rosters seem to be in similar situations. There are no real super good teams this year. Some of the teams at the top also have limited or fewer assets to add then the Hounds as well. Strange season to say the least but also makes it interesting. I think goaltending is their biggest concern, but do agree they need a few more players. OA upgrade could improve in one of those areas.

The Soo
we haven't drafted a bonafide starter since Villalta. if we have to spend our limited assets on trading for a goalie we're toast.

the cost for both nelson and divinciis will have to include martin, and i dont think i would do that if im the soo, martin could be the best player in the league in 2 years.

I'm starting to feel like this team is teasing us and I'm starting to lean towards selling off our top guys and build around 06/07 years unless we can make major additions, definitely questionable in net, too many forwards under achieving and I like our D but still need some more toughness back there.

I agree. There are only 2 or 3 players in the whole league I think who I would even consider moving Martin for and they are all 18 year olds. Even if available, I don't think I would trade him either. I don't know if Nelson is what they need most on the back end either. Someone like Smith, Smyth or Punnett might fit. The Petes might make a good trading partner with their goalie and D. Dom from North Bay might be too expensive.
