Raftis telling everyone nothing is imminent tells me he is after a world junior player. Unlikely a defenseman IMO. If he lands a WJC forward, is he also going to bring in an OA upgrade? I have my doubts. Again, that article indicates he's quick to say "We don't have a ton of extra picks". Doesn't sound like someone ready to make 3 big moves....

One forward and one OA upgrade is 2 moves. What is the third? We don't really need a defenseman by any means, especially not a costly addition.

My preference would be a forward and a defenseman before a second forward is considered. I do not trust any of our '06s to play 2nd pairing playoff minutes in the event of an injury. IMO.

I really don't want to give up virgilio if we don't have to. He's already playing really good as a 17 year old. He's going to be lights out as an 18 and 19 year old.

I do feel like a top f, big, mean dman and an upgrade on OA is needed. But I'd be happy with just a forward and d too. But if we could pry peer from windsor I'd take that. Not sure what he would go for but that'd be my wishlist.

don’t want to part with Virgilio either but if he ends up in Peterborough the positive from it is he is closer to home and allows family to take in his journey

( I do want to part with V for the right player lol )

Agreed it sounds like if he can, he’d like to one stop shop with an eastern team .

Nope. This isn't about his family. It's about us soo fans. Haha kidding.

I think hes gonna be a stud. Logically, I know we'd have to include him in a deal for a big fish. But I'm really hoping we could get away with just using brown and Evans lol.

But I am realistic and know that whoever we trade with is going to want him included

I'm hesitant to infer anything from a lack of moves like others have, considering the trade freeze is still in effect (or no one has made any deals).

Raftis is on the record saying nothing will happen soon. Has nothing to do with what other gms are or are not doing.
All I'm saying is that it doesn't appear like anything is happening soon with any teams, considering we've gone 3 full days without a trade.

Teams usually wait for the big dominoes to fall before making smaller deals. That doesn't necessarily suggest a big move or a junior player for the Hounds.

How about Charlie Schenkel? Proud of him for proving me wrong and turning himself into one of the better goalies in the league

He's still the 14th best starter in terms of SV% on a pretty tight defensive team, so that's average at best. Let's hope the recent stretch of slightly better play can continue. He's at a .908 SV% for the last 10, which is a lot better. It's just to small of a sample for me to be convinced. What we have seen is more consistency, with between 2 and 4 GA in each of those 10. That's what this team needs.

Landon Miller has maintained a .900+ SV% since a pair of rough games to start the season. I want to see more of him down the stretch.

I didn’t cherry pick anything. I went Quant Hockey and clicked OHL Goalies 23/24 where he’s ranked 8th then I clicked OHL.com and went to stats then goalies, where’s he’s actually ranked 6th overall amongst OHL goalies

I edited my post and I wasn't accusing you of cherry picking anything. I was just preemptively defending myself haha.

Games played is hardly an indicator of good goaltending if that's what you are using.

Yeah I’m not saying he’s turned elite as Raftis said he would yet, but he’s trending upwards and that’s all we can ask for.

I expected the trend to be a downwards one, if I’m being honest
