Hache, good look going after 5'7 cloutier and 16 year old Hayes lolol
Not even getting called either. He was a bit of a clown in his Barrie days too, but you would like him on your own team.

Saginaw fans certainly can't complain about the officiating in this one. They're being given every opportunity with a couple of cheap ones on the Hounds at key points in the game.

Love the blog, keep it going. I am not 100% on London however. Currently 4th in the west by points % with Guelph breathing down their neck. I wouldn't put it past Hunter to do a small retool. With the Mem Cup being hosted by the OHL, you might find more buyers than sellers allowing Hunter to get top dollar. They could position themselves in a better position for a run next season. Next few weeks will be fun!
Thanks!! And that could be a good point. I just honestly assumed they’d be going for it because it’s London lol😝.

View attachment 791796Memorial cup quality ice is why Saginaw lost tonight according to Lazary…

His tune has definitely changed from “ That Soo team, when we’re playing our game they have nothing “ though
I've been present for his full interviews and he's a bit more complimentary off the record, but it's clear that he always wants to be dismissive of the other team's skill. He's more careful than other coaches about how his quotes are portrayed to the media. Maybe a motivational tactic of some sort.

He did say this time we are better, will say that

I don’t think he’s saying they lost because of the ice. He’s putting the arena crew on blast to be better after the break.

It has been unusually warm over break. Was in the 50’s on christmas. If the crew didn’t adjust for this, the ice could have been sub par. I think that’s what he was getting at.

I get he's trying to find excuses but there were two teams that skated on the same ice and the better one came out the victors last night, bad ice or not..

Does anyone know the severity of Jordan D’Intino shoulder injury? Is it dislocation/labrum tear, separation, rotator or other?

If not back for a while and or serious repeat injury what are the chances the Hounds would release him and move to another OA prior to deadline. Believe some on this board think an upgraded is needed without the injury.

Would certainly suck for him, if long term injury Hounds could/would be forced to finish the season short one OA. Not a position you want to be in If making a run. Hoping someone has more detail. Thanks

I can go back and find a post about me saying how bad the Saginaw arena ice is and being called something negative. One year our fan bus was turned around because your ice was completely melted and ever since then there has been nothing but problems. You have to at the very least look at things from an outside perspective… you were awarded the Memorial Cup host and promised all these upgrade , $3 million dollars in upgrades and your coach is blaming the ice after losing to the team we all knew would be better…. lol sorry but this is how everyone in the Soo feels, especially after your coach whined when we beat you the last time and said we “have nothing” on you guys lol

I’m sure many reading this are nodding their head yes right now

This is what happens when the evaluation is wrong…. We were better than Saginaw last year but had injuries , noone wanted to admit it.

In the pregame yesterday, Dean said that both D'Intino and Bryce were considered day-to-day, although he said he didn't think we'd see D'Intino this weekend. Said he was skating in practice but still building back his strength. Said Bryce was still going through protocol for concussion.

Thanks Pops.

Also I edited my original post. Looked back and noted Jordan D’Intino did play a full season last year. Hope he’s good to go soon.

Yeah. I guess when you've taken 7 of 8 points without those 4 guys in the lineup, there is no urgency to rush a guy back into the lineup until you are sure he is ready.

Hoping it's nothing long term as he has been a good contributor...I think we'll have our answer within the week on this

We certainly will know more shortly. Believe OA trade deadline is Jan 9th ish. Hoping that window is long enough for Hounds to make a fair assessment.

I wouldn't expect either back in the next few games at least. That's what I've heard anyways. D'Intino has been a good soldier, but with his injury history, we have to at least consider upgrading that spot. If you can replace a decent second line guy with a star level contributor for a second and a third or something then you have to do it.

If we do what I hope we do by bringing in two 19 year olds, then those 2nds and 3rds will mostly be gone. Maybe Raftis completely empties the picks cupboard and shocks all of us, but I suspect he leaves a few crumbs in there for the Martin years ahead.

No doubt there are some OAs out there that I would be salivating at the chance to bring in. I just think it's unlikely knowing Raftis' history on how empty his cupboards have gotten.

The pick situation is going to depend on what we offer up in terms of young players. You've got guys like Riley Patterson and Ethan Hay going for 6 picks each, so that gives a good idea of Virgilio's value. Christopher Brown and Alex Kostov could also reduce pick costs considerably.

I'm not sure if any or all of those guys are on the table, so we'll have to see what Raftis does.
