If the odds are; a cup of coffee:a cup of coffee for 365 days, I’ll take that betI'd bet a cup of coffee that the Soo and Sudbury won't meet in a playoff series.

If we say that both teams are top 3 seeds, there's probably about a 1 in 20 chance that they meet. The league certainly won't allow that to happen though.
It doesn't seem like that when you look at the final score, but the majority of the game was within a goal. Vandenberg made a bunch of sensational saves on guys in by themselves and we had at least 6 or 7 chances of that variety. The game changes if we make it 2-2 after any of those chances.I thought Vandenburg played well, but we were far from being goalie'd.
Special teams were poor, particularly so when you consider how much Sudbury has struggled on them. Also, too many mistakes in our own zone. Sudbury's forecheck was part of it, but actually a lot of it was unforced, just poor communication, not being on the same page, and poor first pass execution. Once we got out of our zone with possession, we were much better through the neutral zone, and offensive zone, lots of offensive zone time. But not doing enough to get the puck to the net with traffic in front. Looking for the pretty play maybe.
Miller played well. Two goals against are off the rush where we had numbers but were just beat outside. Actually both looked almost identical. Other goals and chances against came off unforced errors in our own zone.
@HF92
I don't mind breaking up the second line by inserting D'Intino. They were very disjointed and not playing as a cohesive unit. At all.
Coach Dean was generally happy with the effort and so was I.
Dean said that, while he was happy with the way the Greyhounds played on the man advantage in the third period, “when you don’t provide a full sixty minutes and you give a team like that, who’s got offensive power, an opportunity to win a game, they did it.”
Dean also said that through the first two periods, “we didn’t make the GFL a tough place to play.”
I vehemently disagree with that, but I respect your opinion. He was?
We made far too many mistakes to win that game anywhere near 9/10 times. As I said both goalies played well. But the play of the Soo skaters was very disjointed with far too many errors. Poor special teams. Those were the reasons we lost. We may have owned the shot clock but both teams had chances.
My mistake for not reading the quotes. Sometimes the feel of the full interview, which can be 5-10 minutes, isn't quite reflected in the snippets that you see in the paper.

Last time some of these guys play in the Soo tonight?
What the hell are you talking about? I'm proud to call them both friends. I just got a different vibe from the interview, that's all.Seriously? So now you are questioning the journalistic integrity of Brad and Peter in their choices of what they cut from the interview? Most would concede the point when faced with those quotes, but I guess you found a different direction to take.
We were the better team by a considerable margin at even strength, but unfortunately there's more to the game than that. Oke outplayed Schenkel (who wasn't bad by any means) and our special teams sucked. The loss of Karki has been really glaring on the PP. We probably win this game and the one in Guelph if we have him.The team played good enough to stay within arms reach but not good enough to win, they made a ton of mistake and once again… the only players who seems to be the same were untouchables, im not saying there is for sure a correlation, but there are some players 1) playing nervous and 2) getting icetime they don’t deserve..likely due to showcasing ( as we are head to head with two buyers ) or at least that’s what I feel comfortable chalking it up to haha
Game is the past now, move forward and grow!

Yup.
AgreedTo be fair Saginaw would be better offensively and defensively if thier WJC players were back as well. Like I said before in private messages they are December games missing players and neither team has made thier big deadline adds. I’d be more concerned if you have this problem a month from now
forgione must have missed his fishbowl lol. Started the 3rd with it back on
