At the end of the day, you can't force the kid to do anything he doesn't want to do, sucks for the Colts but I think they're sol...as Hockeypops alluded too, I doubt anything nefarious transpired in the background from Raftis, he's a young GM still who I am sure wants to move up to the bigger leagues and pulling a stunt like this wouldn't go over well...
I agree. I too believe there wasn’t anything nefarious and sadly an accusation is an accusation regardless of character of person making it. It’ll be grey for sure, no clear cut black or white. The players value will be determined and that will be what the soo will pay. I don’t feel the buyer beware clause works with this lol. It’s a crappy situation and it’s crappy for everyone involved. itll be rectified so all parties can move on.

Team still trying to find their way forward after the deadline. Time to get back on track. Windsor, Sarnia, Erie. Need to come out hard and play that way for 60 minutes. Less experienced teams should start to show cracks if we pressure them all game, but can't take anything for granted.

Windsor is playing tough hockey lately, just look at their game against Sudbury this past weekend, can't take anyone for granted....

100%. It doesn't matter who you're playing when your feet aren't moving and the breakout is as bad as the hounds was this past weekend.

Will anything actually come from Sirizzotti? Maybe Barrie is mad they’re stuck with the education package after not playing game?

This is a great interview with Raftis. Almost 40 minutes and it gives a lot of insight into his thought process this deadline. He is really high on the 2007 group and wanted to have picks in the coming draft to build around that group.

I was hoping for a question about the defense corps for this year, but unfortunately it never came.

Tony B. did a very good job in that interview. I wish we saw more of this from the organization. I was lowkey hoping for a question about the Barrie trade but didn't hear it unless I missed it while I was distracted at work.

Was probably a moot question to ask, Raftis already alluded to the fact he was searching for one and was hoping for a trade to finalize in the dying moments but never came together.

I would have been curious to hear about the Sirizotti situation but I also think Raftis wouldn't have said much IF the league is investigating

The Sirizzotti situation is indeed a strange one. One part of the interview touched on his previous role with the OHL head office, and it reminded me yet again how out of character the allegation would seem to be, from everything I know about Raftis.

I guess time will tell if anything comes of it.

According to yesterday’s Peter Ruicci article, Bryce McConnell-Barker remains “day-to-day”, with no concrete timeline of return mentioned.

After only 3 games, how would you rate the Hounds giving up Sirizzotti and picks for Frasca?

Sirizzotti seemed to be putting up points on a consistent basis lately before the trade.

I thought it was a significant overpay, but I'm hoping that Frasca can eventually fit in here. He doesn't really play a Greyhounds style game.

Was just discussing this with my son last night. I love that he is a big body that can win faceoffs, but man we gave up a lot for a guy that can't keep up with the speed of his wingers. really hope he pans out, but i miss the confidence Sirrizotti was playing with.

hope it works out.

Had similar thoughts watching last week although that was far from the best hockey from ANY of our players.

So far in limited exposure he hasn't had a big impact however he was a Point Per Game player last year, and chipped in 10pts in 13 playoff games so it's probably best to judge the trade at the end of the season once we see his entire body of work in the red n white. We might see his best hockey in the playoffs where his size could be a HUGE factor when the game gets tighter and more physical.

I think we need to wait until Bryce is back. Let's let the lines mesh and see if Frasca can find his stride. If we had just gone and gotten a "Greyhound" style player instead, we would have complained we needed more size.

Agreed. We know things get a lot tighter and rougher in neckbeard season and you see a few less "pretty" goals and a lot more "garbage" goals. In 2018 one of the knocks against the team was that our high level of skill in the regular season didn't fully translate to playoff style hockey, and even this season we've seen teams relegate our skill to the perimeter when skilled forwards were unwilling to "pay the price" out front. We might not know Frasca's full value until the real hockey starts.

when playoff hockey starts :
yes we will see the value of players like Frasca, Allard, Martin, Gibson, Kurdraytsev, Beck, G.Hayes,
the jury will be out on players like : Mignossa, Cloutier, T. Hayes, BMB, D'Intino, Virgilio, BrodieMB,
( Will they be able to handle the increaased body contact, and physical play ? ) and be effective players.
