damien giroux (oa) from flint to hometown of Sudbury for 2 3RD Picks
Then Oliver Peer( oa)traded from Windsor to Flint for 5 draft picks
odd moves by Flint i think.

Was kinda hoping Raftis would have swapped out D'Intino for Peer.....looking like we've settled on Beck, Frasca and D'Intino going forward for OAs

Anyone else still a little uneasy with only 22 bodies moving forward? Still thinking a depth addition might be coming, with ~3x4ths going the other way?

was really hoping we'd add Lavoie from Niagara. think he would have scored a ton for us.

if we could use some 4ths for an older dman and maybe somehow swing a deal for lavoie with our remaining 2nd and 4ths....

someone ask Hunter to call Niagara for us.

Unless there's something we don't know in terms of a 'mystery' signing....*cough Mcgroarty cough*
can't see that but i'd be ecstatic to be proven wrong haha. if castle, although he isn't great, is a 19 year old former 1st rounder, going for an 11th rounder, we should be able to get something done for a depth veteran lol

Can anyone tell me how Van Vliet goes for 2,2,3 and Protz? Yowza. We are not getting anyone for 4.4.4
Real shortage on D I guess. If the hounds really wanted to grab one Punnett may have been the way to go. Might have been easier to fill the forward hole after instead of searching the scrap pile for a D.

I still think they are trying to add another defender and don’t believe this is the last deal. Just a hunch.

Sudbury Wolves were involved in the deal. Protz is better.

There it is. Our 23rd player. At a much more palatable price than Virgilio, 2, 2, 3.

The Soo
there's our depth forward.

prices are definitely high but what's costlier, a few draft picks or getting eliminated because saginaw/london/kitchener/owen sound feasted on our bottom pairing? an injury to our top 4 and our defense could be pretty shaky.

Punnett was the answer to that rather than Frasca. I will not be happy with any 3rd pairing defenseman brought in at today's market value, I guarantee that.

I would have been ok with Punnett and Frasca. See what happens I guess.

It's a little disappointing to see a more valuable player in Punnett go for a lesser OA and fewer picks than Frasca. Perhaps we could have been more patient in the OA market.

We could have had something like Punnett and Veccia instead of Frasca and DeZoete for the same price.

So when Justin DeZoete was traded to Guelph from Mississauga in October of 2023, the Hockey News had this to say:

"The 2004-born forward was originally traded to the Steelheads last January from the Peterborough Petes in the Owen Beck trade. Dezoete had 23 points in 63 games in his rookie season with the Petes, but has had a steady decline from there.

If Dezoete can get himself into a bigger role in the Storm's lineup, he has the potential to be a very effective support player. He has tremendous speed and a high compete level, and will be the one battling in the corner and retrieving pucks."

I think he was brought in to play on the checking line with Cloutier in Clattenburg's spot on the LW. Just not sure if they are going to have Allard center it, or maybe Brown.

Vader and Fantino/Brown are likely the healthy scratches when everyone is available.
