  • We're expeting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
We are strapped for cash and we do need some players that are better than the 700K rest of the roster fill ins.

Id find a quality 3C and move Kerfoot to 2nd line LW with Tavares and Nylander.
I know some aren’t crazy about it but he’s better than Galchenyuk and easily one of the better players we have after the rest.
if you are doing that im pretty sure robertson is a better fit there at a much lower ticket tbh.

Thank you Spezza. And welcome back. Spezza is the only dude I care about on the roster besides Hyman (if he comes back) and Mo.

ok ok I love Matthews and Willy has grown on me too along with Kerfoot.

All that said... once again FU Dubas for screwing the Leafs

More Proof that Dubas is one of the best UFA contract negotiators in the NHL. No other GM could sign Spezza to a better contract then what Dubas has.

Glad to have him back. Perfect veteran to have on the 4th line, second PP unit and in the locker room!

I sure hope they don’t bring Thornton back. There’s really only room for one of those two and the Leafs made the right choice with Spezza.

We know nothing about him in an 82 game season. To expect him to endure an entire season, not falter, face injury or hit roadblocks without any proper backup to assume a top 6 role is foolish.

We’ve devestated our depth so that if an 800K player has trouble, all you have is a 700K replacement.

correct we dont know how any rookie will do over his first full season, not sure what injury has to do with it since we know just as much about whether kerfoot will get injured as robertson, the point is its 3.5 million dollars that we might need to use elsewhere given the cap restraints, also kerfoot has never been very good in a top 6 role with the leafs. hes a great 3rd liner, but the majority of the time thats about it.

I was very impressed by playoffs kerfoot. Miles more effective than playoffs Marner

ye he was good, but hes been fairly mediocre for large parts of 2 full seasons before this last playoff run, 17 goals in 121 games total while not providing much else besides some speed is replaceable at a lower cost, personally i think robertson breaks 17 goals his first season and i think he can play in the top 6 without looking out of place like kerfoot.

Its not like Spezza has much leverage anyway and Dubas didnt have to clearly do any arm twisting. Spezza opened up blatantly he'd be willing to resign and Dubas knows he works hard and trys to show up when it matters so dubas bit the bullet.

It's a little difficult praising Dubas and company in the wake of a horrible 1st round series loss to MTL.

Spezza is only a small part of Shanny/Dubas' house of cards that will topple easily next season.
