I could see it as part of a larger package.

20th overall, Devon Levi, Konsta Helenius, Anton Wahlberg.

mid 1st, potential starter who maybe needs a change of scenery, middle 6 C with top 6 upside, young big forward with top 6 upside could maybe be a middle 6 C option down the line.

Would Helle waive for Buffalo though?
I could see a package like that working, I just don't see a pick being the main part of the return

If he just wants out - maybe

If he wants to go to a team with real cup potential - probably not

Yeah plus not many of his team USA buddies there. I still think Florida is his #1 preferred destination.

the big question will be if we can pry #9 and Lundell from them. They'd be much more keen to part ways with Lundell if they can get Larkin. But how do they get Larkin without including #9 or Lundell or both?

I think he is capable of making two trades at once, I don't think he would want to, I very much doubt that he hasn't gauged the market for what he could get with that #8 pick and I think if he could have filled an area of need with that pick he would have traded it

like we heard the asking price from dreger, he never mentioned anything about the future, he mentioned 2nd line center, defensemen and 4th line center, not draft picks, so idk why we would do a trade full of draft picks
Again, that certainly sounds like Chevy -- stick to the plan, no desire or ability to adapt.

if we can get a 3rd team involved then that would make more sense, but the only legit report we got that is they are willing to consider moving him if they get a 2C + +
That’s what I’ve been saying, but it might be a 2 step process and not announced as one big three way trade. Top contenders are more likely to move out high draft picks and less likely to move out now pieces and building teams want high draft picks and are more willing to move out now pieces. To maximize Helly’s trade value Chevy most likely has to walk both sides of the aisle over expecting one perfect trade partner, especially for a player with a full NMC.

People actually think that:

A) Torts is a good idea?

And

B) TNSE (who treat their players as well as anyone in the league) would actually entertain it?

That's actually hilarious

I've always wondered how that meeting went with Chevy and Torts around the coaching vacancy prior to hiring Bowness.

Imagine being a fly on the wall for that conversation. Lol.

I think that if we want Lundell AND 9, we have to add

What is Stevie Y's ask for Larkin? Getting Detroit involved as a 3rd party opens up some possibilities

To FLA: Helle Larkin
To us: 9th, Lundell, Bear
To DET: Samoskevich, Samberg, Perfetti

Values don't seem quite right anywhere lol

Torts: get rid of Wheeler
Jets: we can't do that

Well Florida gets the 2 most valuable players so should have to throw more into the pot.

I would caution people’s expectations, seeing some huge returns being discussed. I think Helle will get a good return more then some on the mains think, but I don’t think it’s massive return just for Helle straight up. IMO, I’m keeping my expectations a bit reserved until I see actual return. Obviously if Jets add to Helle the return goes up.

Seems Florida walks away pretty good here and we end up giving up a lot and Detroit doesn't get the C they want either.

It seems both us and Detroit are both going to want Lundell. So it comes down to which player Florida wants more.

Do they want Lundell, Larkin or Hellebuyck more?

Is Larkin that much better than Lundell?

Older, more expensive and worse defensively

Not sure but sounds like Florida has made an offer to Detroit for Larkin. No one knows what that offer is so they are at least trying to get him. Whether trying means they are trying to rob Detroit or whether trying means they are offering a pretty decent package no one knows.

I think thay Lundell to Larkin is relatively lateral move for FLA and doesn't fill a need. No reason for them to do that UNLESS it got them Helle, too

Yeah so then it comes down to why does Detroit do this when they also want a C which neither Perfetti, Samoskevich or Samberg fill. Sure they get good value but they want a C just as much as we do.

I agree with this, it is good to keep expectations tempered, but that said...

The main boards always love to talk themselves into scenarios that smoke "little old Winnipeg" when in reality, Chevy does not get fleeced/bullied/demolished in deals.

Years of proof to showcase that. PLD being such a high profile case of it which absolutely still makes me laugh about delusional Hab fans and what must have crossed their mind when the LAK return became public.

1st and a high prospect and I'm happy if Helle asks to be moved.

I feel the same way. Probably would be 9OA + or Lundell + from Florida, likely not both.

Best case scenario they just step up with a top offer and get it done before the draft, like when they got Tkachuk from Calgary.

They made a more than fair offer of a 100 point winger and top pairing D to get it done (perhaps 9oa + Lundell is equivalent, except they'd be getting older this time instead of younger).
