Pretty sure I saw Anton Lundell at IkeaThis is going to be a franchise changing trade trading Helly. Hopefully for the better but with Dredger talking about him getting traded i think it's as good as done. Probably next Tuesday.![]()
idk how we do a perfetti deal, he's not going to want long term after the season he had and do the jets want a 1 year deal and have only 1 year of control left? what happens if he has another up and down season?I think with all this Helle talk, it's sorta been lost that Dreger mentionned that Perfetti and the Jets aren't close. I had read some other poster on the main boards (grain of salt) mentioned that Cole isn't the happiest here, which I can totally see (it has been aluded to by others in the press)
I'm also not sold on Samberg being here long term after last summer's negotiations
I think that if we're moving Helle, both those guys are available, either to expand a Helle deal into a blockbuster or as pieces to aquire other pieces
Idk i don't see it as a cup contender sorry. I still don't know who is in net in this scenario.Granted there is a difference in the makeup of VGK compared to us, still we have Scheifs, KFC, Vilardi and JoMo.
We add Lundell and Samo and maybe get lucky with some decent D in FA like Ferraro and perhaps someone else and who knows, I like our chances more with something like that than I do with just running it back with Helle.
Hopefully if Chevy trades Helly he's running out of the arena yelling START THE CAR .Pretty sure I saw Anton Lundell at Ikea

I think him listing the price of what helle would cost would suggest he's doing a bit more then just listeningInteresting even Darren Dreger is saying Chevy is listening to calls on Helle…….
We’ll see how it shakes down, does Helle walk back his comment or intentions, can Chevy improve the team enough to keep Helle happy. I would think Chevy would do at least something fairly big pre draft or at draft, then fills in whatever holes he can rest of the summer. That way Chevy will know Helle by the draft if he’s ok starting next season or does he push harder which might force Chevy hand at the draft. Not much time left before the draft.
Obviously we would need to find someone to replace Helle, Brossoit would be a good start, see if he is healthy enough and maybe run a tandem of him with Dom perhaps or find someone else other than Comrie.Idk i don't see it as a cup contender sorry. I still don't know who is in net in this scenario.
Lundell also does have 3 years left on his deal, & more importantly Morrissey has 2. Really, you have to win in the next year to make this all count b/c it's possible Morrissey may follow the Ehlers and Helle.
hopefully because the past few have been duds lolThings are happening pretty fast now. Coaching changes in both Vegas and Toronto.
Lots of guys on the market for trade. Larkin, Nurse, Rielly, Knies, Helle.
John Carlson and Trouba not resigning in Anaheim. Bob on the market as a 38 year old goalie looking for a long term contract,
Shaping up to be an interesting offseason.
Chevy like all GM’s could be just throwing spaghetti against the wall to see if any GMs bite and overpay at this stage……albeit I admit he doesn’t have much time to play these games if he wants a deal done pre draft. Helle also needs to play ball and not be a jerk about itI think him listing the price of what helle would cost would suggest he's doing a bit more then just listening
All I'll say is that this team showed a commitment to team defense when Bowness first arrived. If they can return to that style of play, then an average goalie tandem might work.![]()
We are in a unique position to do a rebuild. We have 4 great assets to kick start it with and many more middling assets that could fetch some decent returns. I know it sounds a bit video game like to just trade everyone but it's entirely possible we could and come out the other side with more picks and prospects than we could have ever thought possible.

The reason it sounds a bit video game like is that players don't develop in a vacuum. Throwing a bunch of rookies out there usually leads to bad habits and unmet potential.
And while we are at it lets get Torterella as a coach to light a fire under this club. He is the man we need to finally put the "these two guys must always play together, no matter what" mentality that has limited this clubs potential. If Chevy doesnt have the heart to be the bad guy, let Torts run roughshot for 18 months to fix those issues. We are in a unique position to do a rebuild. As you said previously he’s listing a price to get Helle, so it’s a fine line to walk, depending I guess how many teams Helle would waive for. I mean if it’s just Panthers, then yeh he can take calls all day long but they’re just him being polite bc Helle controls what teams he would even waive to. Hopefully Helle, if he wants out, plays ball a bit and gives Chevy more than one team. I haven’t heard anything along those lines todate how many he might waive for, many have suggested Panthers logically but that doesn’t help Helle return value if it’s only one team.I doubt the jets would want it out there that they are willing to trade helle just to see if a team overpays
I don’t see it. He wants to go to a true cup contender and he has a full NMC. He will be about as accommodating as Larkin, maybe less.It was mentioned by a few posters on Here that he would be accommodating
Even LV knew their players wouldn’t put up with Torts for a full season. With their cap situation they will also need to bring in some young players that you want no where near Torts.I think if we bring in Torts we can kiss more than just Helle goodbye. Torts works in a market like Vegas where players actually want to be.

I agree that we will need stop gaps and some vets to stick around in the meantime. Also need to reach the cap floor so we need warm bodies.
Maybe some of our guys will force our hand once Helle is gone. That is why I eye a more futures based return for him. We go out for a 2C package alone and then all the sudden Scheif and KC want out and we are one step ahead 4 steps back.
Just rip the bandaid off.

Just vets for vets sake isn't really too helpful either, at least for creating a new culture around the team with the new group. You need vets who'll buy into the market, which is something we have trouble with.
