All things aside has any of these insiders mentioned what they think the return for a 34 goalie is,I think now that he is coming off a gold his market is high in the states but I'm not sure the return is going be huge, but you never know,if we can create a bidding war amongst teams helle will wave for,it has been mentioned that helle will be accommodating and I'm not there, if the guy wants a cup he will have a short list.
I’d say the market is pretty decent since Bob won cups at age 35 and 36… and Anderson is 36...

and what's your return where if we have something similar to a SV% as last year which was ~league average, that the Jets are Cup Contenders?
I mean Vegas had below league average goal tending and just went to the SCF, you never know. In any case we haven't been true cup contenders with Helle so perhaps filling the 2C hole and maybe another addition could help us more than it would just keeping Helle around.

I just don't feel goalies really get much back in trades but i don't really have a memory about past goalie trades, and the elephant in the room is his playoff numbers,so be interesting to see the offers

you can't really compare the makeup of the line up or opportunity to improve like Vegas to WPG.

Vegas also has Eichel, Marner, Stone, Dorofeyov and Hertl up front and big, mobile D

I mean you gotta angle for both. Whether Florida would give up both is a different story but you gotta try somehow.
I mean if I am Florida I would give up 9OA and Lundell in a heartbeat for Helle…. the goalie market is slim and Helle is literally the only goalie that isn’t a gamble right now and he’s your Captains best pal

At best, he takes you to the Presidents Cup again and the Stanley Cup… at worst, he’s part of the best marketing combo in the American NHL

I’d look at Lundell as expendable especially if Brady Tkachuk was going to be my second line anchor in two years or sooner

How many vezina winning, Olympic gold winning goalies have been on the market though…. in an era where cap is going up and you have him for essentially a $4m aav discount

Do you overpay for Helle or sign Bob for 3 years at $12m

Where have you seen that Helly will be accommodating, as I agree I don’t think he will be. At this point he has a full NMC so he can be very selective. After this season it opens up to a list of 10 teams he will accept a trade to, which would give Chevy some options to work with.
It was mentioned by a few posters on Here that he would be accommodating

I'd hope they are lining up with that thinking. We don't know if Chevy is.

It's in the past but both Roy and Hasek were traded in their primes for pretty meh returns.

The most a goalie has ever been traded for in the cap era is Cory Schneider who Vancouver traded for the 9th overall pick in the 2013 draft that ended up being Bo Horvat.

Florida has also apparently made an offer for Larkin who is a C.

With Helle that would be bringing in about $17 million. Not sure of their cap situation.

Granted there is a difference in the makeup of VGK compared to us, still we have Scheifs, KFC, Vilardi and JoMo.

We add Lundell and Samo and maybe get lucky with some decent D in FA like Ferraro and perhaps someone else and who knows, I like our chances more with something like that than I do with just running it back with Helle.

I think they have $15m to work with. So Lundell gone opens up $5m. If they bring in Larkin it makes Lundell expendable. But also how are they getting Larkin without giving up Lundell or 9th overall?

Hart played unreal in the playoffs until the Cup final and they lost. You may not need a premier starting goalie to win the Cup but you definitely need 2 goalies that are both better than Comrie.

In this draft, everything from 10-40 is probably an equal pick...

There will be some good players at 20-25. After that it looks a little murky. Though the twins are ranked pretty low so perhaps we could swing both somehow with 27 and maybe moving something else.

Carolina proved that with Andersen going down and Bussi stepping up huge.

I think with all this Helle talk, it's sorta been lost that Dreger mentionned that Perfetti and the Jets aren't close. I had read some other poster on the main boards (grain of salt) mentioned that Cole isn't the happiest here, which I can totally see (it has been alluded to by others in the press)

I'm also not sold on Samberg being here long term after last summer's negotiations

I think that if we're moving Helle, both those guys are available, either to expand a Helle deal into a blockbuster or as pieces to aquire other pieces
