It's possible. Could have been that everyone wanted Lundell and it was the first team that took the futures package got it. Must be nice to have options like that as a franchise.

well ignoring NMC and the brother connection thing, 8 overall should be able to land us a pretty nice player if we were to trade it based on that value. 8 + Boum (late first rounder) would probably get it done for someone in that Brady/Larkin tier

I agree it's a problem that needs thinking about, but honestly put yourself in the shoes of Zito, do you give up Lundell ++ for Helle considering his playoff record or do you risk it with Bob + FA goalie.

Not sure I could bring myself to do the former, but the latter is also not very appealing. Tough choice.

Watching this all play out, it is feeling almost inevitable that Helly is the last piece for Florida. Why stop now, when you have the best group of players assembled since the the 1970's and 80's dynasty teams. All they need to do is add a goalie.

Watching this all play out, it is feeling almost inevitable that Helly is the last piece for Florida. Why stop now, when you have the best group of players assembled since the the 1970's and 80's dynasty teams. All they need to do is add a goalie.

We are told Lundell ain't moving so not sure what else we can really get from them with 9 gone. I don't think Helle is in their plans.

Yup, agreed. In theory panthers still could pull off a Helle trade for Lundell or Lundell with a small plus. Cap wise depending how players they need to sign not sure, but they still have Lundell available unless they view him as untouchable future 1c. Jets could also take Lundell plus another cap hit that could help us on D and make the panthers cap ,more manageable.

If the panthers are still in the Helle market, I can only see it being a trade including Lundell+. If he’s unavailable then I would think Helle would have to be willing to waive to some other teams or he’ll be back next year. Chevy won’t be giving away HElle for peanuts, albeit I did say the Lundell & 9th OA has always been a pipe dream.

I have mixed feelings on Brady going to the panthers, good and bad related to the NHL. I’ll say PMO must be laughing his ass off with having that forward group next year, I feel bad for other eastern teams playing against them so often. Bunch of chippy, pests/rats haha

I don't think we will get a ++ added to Lundell. I would hope for more, but don't expect much more.

I don't think that there ever was a Helle trade WITHOUT Lundell
