Chytil + Kravtsov
for
Larkin

would you do it? or is that way too much?

Kravtsov + kid defenseman? Move Chytil to RW?

So I’m guessing Cuylie , Barron , Panunieni , Geersten , Robertson , Schneider, Huska go down

Leaves 5 lines and 5 pairs left
3 G

They were assigned to Hartford. I don't think they can play in games but they should be able to practice, anyway.

Waivers and being assigned to Hartford are two different things.
They cleared waivers but could still stay with the camp, but now they’ve been sent to Hartford so that’s where they’re going.

I get the difference between being waived and actually assigned. I'm just saying I believe we've used players assigned to Hartford's camp during Rangers practices and scrimmages in the past (just during camp). I could be wrong though, or maybe we did and it's no longer permissible.

Weren't the "rumors" either Lundkvist or Kravstov and a pick for Larkin? I wouldn't move both Chytil and Kravstov.

Kravstov and 2023 #1 for Larkin. Move Strome to the wing. Then you have center depth of Zib, Larkin, Chytil and Rooney. Of the Rangers are out of it come trade deadline could get a pretty penny for Strome. Could likely replace that pick dealt for Larkin in the Strome trade.

The rumor was nils + 21 1st, and maybe a minor piece. For Larkin.
Which I kind of think under values Larkin a bit

I think I can understand why the Rangers did not pull the trigger then. Lundkvist is seen as one of the top defensive prospects outside the NHL. Those types of players are not dealt for a good #2C while adding a 1st and something else.

If Larkin was a couple years younger and had 2 additional years left on his deal, possibly. Larkin is what he is at this point. There likely isn't any additional growth there.

Id wanna know what the next contract was gonna be as well and I'd want it signed befo re he jumped on a line with Panarin and Kakko. There may not be growth as a player but there would be growth in his point totals getting out of Detroit. I could see him hitting 80-90 points here no problem.

Other than the top young twenty players in the NHL that aren’t Rangers, I wouldn’t trade our 2023 1st.
The chance of drafting Connor Bedard and Matvei Michkov are players we shouldn’t gamble on losing in a trade no matter what the odds.

I’m ready to see the full lineup, whatever it may be, with true combos.

Nemeth said in his interview they haven’t even talked about systems yet. Need to get going with that, whatever it may be.

10 days until the season starts, two preseason games left. Start Igor for a full and Georgy for the other one.

There are 8 days available for practices but they will be on their bonding trip for 3 (?) of them. The real games are coming up quick and not much time to work on systems.

Which leads me to believe (it’s no rocket science) that Gallant and Kelly will have a very simple system. Quinn would have had them practicing systems play already for 4 practices. Already overthinking shit.

That may be the reason alone Gallant isn’t pushing anything on them. Maybe he just wants to get to know the players and used the feedback from the exit interviews with Quinn.

Id be lying if I said it didn’t concern me a little. Gallant is extremely hands off with the players in a lot of ways. I don’t know if that’s will be a good or bad thing with this group.
I wouldn’t be concerned at all with Gallant. He did a great job in Florida and Barkov+Huberdeau developed very well under him who are very similar to Kakko+Lafreniere

Did a great job of getting Vegas to the SCF, and did an even better job of maintaining success the seasons after that

Started slow with Canada at this past WC, but ended up winning a gold medal

Well he never said he had Gretzky like offense, he said with maybe a little more offense. Lars Eller with a little more offense is a 3rd line center on a cup team.
Wasn't Lars Eller a 3C on a cup team with Washington

Larkin might have lower ceiling potential than Chytil and Kravtsov, but he is a better player right now.
So Chytil & Krav line up better with our window
This is straight up looney bin absurd. Your love affair with certain players blinds you beyond any reasonable logic.
How? Chytil and Larkin got practically identical production last season while Larkin got way more PP time and Chytil got none. Chytil is a lot younger too

Definitely for many many years it was true that players assigned to AHL camp could be, and were, recalled to play in NHL preseason games.
We don't see that lately, don't know if there's a rule now, or just evolving common practice

We’d be doing cartwheels if Chytil turned into Larkin.

at this point, I like chytil to develop his power game. Kreider Chytil Goodrow is the way

If you really need this explained to you then it’s a lost cause. But I’ll play along.

Going off of just 1 year of results is a shameful position for your argument. Not to mention Larkin played on a dumpster fire of a team with no help around him. He is a true, proven pivot that plays a solid 2-way game, skates like the wind, and is efficient on the dot. All things Chytil has yet to prove at this level.

I can agree that Chytil + Kravtsov would be a rough trade for the Rangers. Especially with Larkin needing a new contract. The deal would have to start with Zac Jones and thus it likely doesn’t happen unless his stock really rises. But to say Larkin is the worst of the 3 is foolish.

I do believe we will be competitive this year and we will end up with Larkin or Hertl at some point to make this team deeper down the middle for a strong playoff push.
