Hits per 60 minutes the last 3 seasons, with at least 35 games played:

20-21
Reaves: 23.02 - 1st in NHL
Blais: 14.22 - 15th in NHL

19-20
Reaves: 26.32 - 1st in NHL
Blais: 18.48 - 3rd in NHL

18-19
Reaves: 21.03 - 4th in NHL
Blais: 17.69 - 6th in NHL

That line is going to be bangin'

Googled and saw that "in Manhattan" was like 30x more common than "on Manhattan", surprising! Aren't you "on" an island?
My wife STILL makes fun of me for writing that I live "on Manhattan" and have "an accent" in the dating profile that matched us up. She thought I was foreign and was excited for something different. Instead she got a Queens goon who says things like "close the winduh" and "mortuhdel"

Look, I'm happy with Schneider's performance too, but it's gonna take more than one preseason game to force him into this lineup.

4 more assessments to go, Jones and Schneider will play at least one, probably 2 more games.

reality is Nemeth is in so they need a RD. It could be Lundkvist , Schneider or Jones

pretty sure it’s Lundkvist unless he bombs the next few preseason games

Schneider won’t be rushed while Jones is going to be up and down all year

for sure a vet spares. So one of maybe two of Tinordi , Bitetto , Hajek

Does Schneider’s elc slide this year? Because if it does, I’d def give him 5 or so games early and say we want you to see what you’re playing against, and then dominate in the ahl.

Don't see how Nemeth doesn't start at 3LD. They gave him 3 years at $2.5 million so it's his spot to lose.

Tinordi, Lundkvist and Jones are vying for the last two spots (3RD and 7th defenseman). Unless they decide to carry all three, but that isn't enough ice time for the kids.

I think a "tell" will be if you see Nemeth with a new partner in one of the next games. That, to me, would be the best indication that someone other than Lundkvist is being considered for that spot.

Where does Hunt list on this?

dont thinks cause he’s in the AHL if he’s not in NY

Okay...
But why Brodzinski is still here?

it's training camp with 4 more preseason games to go
JB has played NHL games all of last 5 seasons
would be in the mix for call-ups, depending on the need
no down side to a few extra days w NHL staff

even Greco is still in camp
have any waiver-vulnerabble guys been demoted yet?
I don't think so, not yet

Regarding Kakko and Laf's placement in the top two lines - I like where they are, but I also kind of want to swap them.

I think Kakko would be better on the top line with Kreider and Zib and I think Laf would be better on the 2nd line with Bread and Strome.

Could you imagine the types of things that could happen with Laf and Bread on the same line? Seriously. How could you even defend against that? It would be like Bread + Patrick Kane all over again.

And I think Kakko - who is turning into a possession monster - would be great with Kreider (who isn't a possession monster) and Zib who likes to set up in the slot. I think all three would be dangerous in tight around the crease and be hard to defend. It would also make that line really hard to score against on the other end of the ice.

The way things are set up now is fine. But I think of Laf as having a ton of finesse and Kakko as being more of a Hossa type two-way guy, that would compliment that top line a ton.

Not saying it wouldn't work, or that on the surface it's a bad idea, but I don't see Laf being on that line making it unstoppable or anything.

He should get better this year, and put up some decent points, but he is far from a star just yet. Panarin can make almost anyone get points, so it may not even matter.

If Laf’s speed increased the way it looked last game, then I think he’s looking at 50-60 points this year as his floor.
