Oh great now we have to trade Lundkvist for ZadorovChara signing with the Islanders according to Weeks.
The Swedish forward became perhaps the most unlikely 40-goal scorer in NHL history this past season when he tallied 43 times, nearly quintupling his previous career high of nine goals.
Golden Knights head coach Gerrard Gallant had a rather simple explanation for why Karlsson took his game to new levels in 2017-18.
“He took advantage of ice time,” Gallant said Monday during an appearance on Hockey Central at Noon. “He took advantage of playing with two guys that’ve been really solid hockey players that I know pretty well in Reilly Smith and [Jonathan] Marchessault, and they clicked from day one when they went together.”
The 25-year-old has six goals and seven assists in 15 post-season games thus far.
“It’s all confidence,” Gallant added. “I mean, he’s got a lot of confidence. You watch him pay and he plays a two-way game and I think when you play good defensive hockey you get more scoring chances because you pay a price down there and it leads to more offence, so I think that line does a good job when they do that.”
The AHL better watch out for that line this year.

Guy is probably getting D Day flashbacks
Hopefully chytil can head down that path. Would have liked to see him have increased ice time this season, but it’s unlikely with Strome and Zibby both still in front of himGerard Gallant made a huge difference in William Karlsson's career. Vegas was Karlsson's third NHL team. He was running out of NHL opportunities. Karlsson had 43 goals in his first season in Vegas. He hasn't come close to the 43 goal mark. He had 24 in 18-19. His last two seasons were shortened because of Covid. Karlsson was on pace for 19-20 goal seasons.

Chytil needs to play with confidence. He should play with Kreider and Goodrow on the 3rd line or with better players in the top six. Panarin. Lafrenière. Kakko.
Chytil turns into Karlsson and the Rangers don't need to trade for another center. He is signed for 2 seasons at $2.3M.
Considering how gallant plays his lines typically, Chytil should see a major increase in ice time from ES. Plus I dont see Gallant as intimidated as Quinn was and "forced" to play panarin and strome.Hopefully chytil can head down that path. Agree in principle but Dubie is prob retiring due to his wrist and Haley, well been there done that. I’m thinking a RD in case no one is ready like Vatanen.Surprised we haven't had any PTOs yet. not that we necessarily need them, but I think it's nice to have vets around to help push the kids and set an example.
Give Zajac, Dubinsky, Haley, and Ennis PTOs just to come in and spend the entire camp working with Chytil on face-offs. Set them each up on one circle. Have Fil skate as fast as he can circle to circle taking draws.

Dubinsky is done and Zajac will sign with the Isles. If he doesn’t I would love to sign him to a one year and skip the PTO. He’s a true leader. Give him a game here and there and the boys will fight for himSurprised we haven't had any PTOs yet. not that we necessarily need them, but I think it's nice to have vets around to help push the kids and set an example.

As I asked the other gentleman,
What outstanding work did he do (and lets change this to the AHL because it still doesn’t matter) that would make anyone think this Kid could be a middle 6 forward this year? I think im the one “ROFL” at these ridiculously high expectations some of you come up with. You either are unrealistic or you simply havent been around long enough to have experienced countless prospects not go from being studs in the AHL to even an everyday NHLer, let alone a guaranteed middle 6 forward or higher. And Barron hasn’t even been a “stud” at the AHL.
Don’t worry I know what you’re going to say, ‘he was a PPG player last year blah blah blah’ — what, against the same 4 teams on the schedule in a shortened season? I mean cmon, I hope Barron becomes a serious player as much as the next fan here, but to pencil him as a real possibility for anything more than a 4th line role to start the season (and quite frankly it could last all season) is just setting yourself up for unnecessary disappointment. He may not even make the team out of camp because the organization would rather him get 1st line minutes in Hartford, aka because he wasnt going to get anything more than 4th line minutes at the NHL level.
Nope its not personal, I am just not the one who said this kid could be a middle 6 option out of the gate. Be realistic.
Yawn dude. This was from like 2 days ago. You’re late to the party. We all discussed this ad nauseam. Agree to disagree. Lmao at the bolded, so far fetched and untrue. I didn’t start the conversation, only responded to someone else’s expectations actually. If you are going to jump into a convo 2 days after it happened please read all the posts. You can end your little rant. Thank you.No one is EXPECTING anything from Barron except you. You're the only seer that seems to "know" what he will or will not do. Everyone else is just hypothesizing "ifs" and possibilities.
You're relegating him to nothingness.....
And "PPG blah blah blah". Everyone who has brought up his PPG pace, as far as I can tell, fully understands and acknowledges that the AHL was depleted last season. Not one person thinks it's as meaningful as if it were any other regular season. You in no way have made an insightful or poignant statement regarding his AHL performance. In fact, you're a bit late to the party.
But you are dismissing it like it is meaningless, which it is not. Neither you nor anyone else right now knows what Barron is ready for Some signs point to him being ready for more. Some signs point to him being more than a 4th liner. Will he do it this year? No one really knows. Except you of course. You, the prognosticator of puerile pomposity. Feelin the need to put others in their place so you can feel so special, using fallacious arguments and tossing around the strawmen like he's your wife and it's your h0neymoon.
More things are possible than that which you deem plausible. But then if you could predetermine what players are going to do and what they are capable of, you'd probably be the GM of an NHL team...... But the fact that your delusion makes you think other people don't all ready understand the probability of these suggestions and the condition of last season's AHL, is why we are all ROFLing in response to your statements. The reality of the situation is apparent to everyone discussing possibilities and hypotheticals. You've brought nothing to the conversation but yesterday's news.
