The AHL better watch out for that line this year.

well not w Cuylle, he's going back to Major Junior (... if he doesn't make NHL)
and the year after, most expect Baron to be full-time NHL by then

Cuylle doesn't meet any thresholds to play minor pro
(fyi Schneider meets the 2 typical ones)
- not yet 20 in CY'21,
- not enough OHL seasons(4) even counting the 'missed' season last,
and re the exception for Junior guys who played AHL last, didn't hit the 20 game threshold

C'mon guys. If you make the Selanne reference before Kreiderman then it doesn't count for the Bingo card. Don't spoil the game for all of us.:laugh::laugh:

To be fair, the same is true for Selänne

Not sure I buy the Selanne jabs anyway
Yes he never hit 70+ goals again,
but that very high-scoring era was ending by early '90's

After, he still had
5 seasons of 40-52 goals and
6 more 85-109 point seasons

That was not Frolik/Juneau-like

Juneau and Jim Carey had to be hard to endure for Caps fans in that era.

Unfortunately Cuylle will have to go back to juniors, if I got that right from here. He missed the cut by two games, to be AHL eligible.
I feel like they could find a way around that rule. Unless the CHL really wants to force things, if it’s better for a player’s development and future they would probably find a way to work it out. They could say he was around for more games but was injured or something. I just don’t see a reason for the CHL to fight it - assuming the Rangers actually want him in the AHL, of course. Which makes it a completely moot point.

I still think Prucha got screwed by Renney
Didn't he get like next to no PP time that second year and was basically demoted at the start of the season

Im critizing the facts about Zibs play if you actual read what i wrote. The only similarities between the two players is their age and there length of contract that will hurt this team in the long run. Sorry but i dont want to just hand zibs a blank check and an unlimited amount of years. He will decline hard and if he is making 9-10m per year his buyout will be harder than anything weve already bought out. I DO NOT WANT MORE DEAD CAP SPACE esp when we will be competing for a cup and need to pay our home grown talent in Kakko, Laf, and others.

We won't be competing for anything by letting our #1C who paces for over 100 points walk or trade him for a future's package. The elite players are the one's that you have to take risks on if you want to win. Should Chicago have let Kane walk? Should LA have let Kopitar walk? No, you get those guys under contract and figure it out later. Could the last 2-3 years suck? Sure, but you don't have a choice unless you have a replacement. Considering the Rangers haven't had a center of the caliber since the mid 90's you have to do it. Had the Rangers had a 1C throughout their runs in the 2010's then there is a very good chance they have a cup. The problem is the Rangers paid a secondary piece like Kreider when they should have locked down the elite players then looked to gamble right on which of the future core they lock up long term early to potentially have some strong deals on the books for their potential runs.

I’ve asked it before, where would you rank the Zibanejad contract situation in terms of hardest decisions the team has had to make in the cap era?

Not that hard. You get it done sans a ridiculous ask and I'm someone whose VERY conservative with long term deals to veteran players. Is risk involved? Sure. There always is on these long term deals. I guess we just have to hope that the structure of the deal is as team friendly as possible.
