I was under the impression we were going on about how we have too many wings and not enough centers and yet now I'm hearing people want to offersheet Tkachuk.

Had enough of the off-season already. Let’s get this show on the road
This week bruh. Still no hockey, last week of NFL preseason (garbage), and international break in soccer. I guess you can call it the calm before the storm but man I can't wait any longer give me my sports.

What on earth man lol
Larkin sucks. Kravtsov is way better, so is Chytil. Larkin would be the least valuable part of that deal and we’re giving up both Chytil & Kravtsov AND a 1st round pick player AND a 1st in a strong draft? Chytil got 1 less point in the same number of games as Larkin this season and is 4 years younger. Chytil did that with no PP time or meaningful mins.

And why would we trade from our weakest position to get yet another LW?? Lmao

Are you smoking something my man?
First of all I agree and would never make that trade. We are giving up way to much. But some reality please. Larkin does not suck and has played on a putrid team the last few years. To say Krav and Chytil are way better at this stage is baseless. Krav hasn't even played really in the NHL except for a handfull of games and FC needs to take the next step up. Again way to much to give up in a trade but we really need to stop over rating our players.

If we’re talking about offer sheets, my #1 target would be Roope Hintz. He’s an RFA next year and just put up PPG this past season while playing through an injury. Him and Kakko would be something else with the way they play, and he’s actually a center unlike Brady Tkachuk. I think Hintz breaks out like Zibanejad. Dallas has to re-sign Robertson, Klingberg, and Gurianov next year along with Hintz.

Hertl would be the perfect center for the Rangers, he's basically excellent at everything, but the knees and age/contract length would certainly be a concern.
A 1-2 of Zibanejad - Hertl would be solid AF

Larkin is a damn good hockey player. It’s becoming increasingly evident you don’t watch much hockey with some of these outbursts. I don’t like the proposed trade, at all, but suggesting Larkin sucks is almost as foolish as expecting Kravtsov to score 70 points next season.

Brady can play center.

Brady is a winger. He’s not someone centering your top line. Or your second line. His game is perfectly suited at wing.

When I watched Larkin in the worlds he looked really good and was pretty gritty too, I do talk hyperbolically but I do think that trade is brutal. Chytil is just as good as Larkin right now and is only getting better

Unless something major happens, it's almost certainly going to be Mika, Strome, Chytil, Rooney down the middle.

I don't think experimentation with Kravtsov or Laf at center is something Gallant is going to be game for when he is still getting to know all the players.

When you're coming to a new franchise as a coach you do want to put your own stamp on the team identity, but you also don't want to break what isn't broken.

Love the outside the box thinking.

Also, I am uncertain if I'm remembering correctly, but I believe he elevated his game in the PO's the year we followed Dallas in hopes we'd get that better pick from them.

I'm on the Hintz train 100%

Brady can play center.

Anyone can play center. Zac Jones played center 5 years ago. Doesn't mean anything. The question is "can he play center in the NHL?" and the answer to that is actually "who the f*** knows because even centers drafted in the first round can often not stick in the NHL at that position"

For instance... I'd be shocked if Lucius and Bolduc actually play center in the NHL if they make it.

Dallas would be foolish to let Hintz go. he is one of their better players. Radek Faska would be another good option.

One of the dangers of having a very good 4th line is that it ends up becoming your third line, and that cuts into the minutes of some of the young offensive minded players.

For a decent period in 2011-2012, Boyle and Prust were on our third line, and the 4th line was Wolski-Christensen-Zuccarello, which was the amusing time when the entire 4th line was also all of our go-to-shootout guys. Not typically the types of players you think benefit from 9 even strength minutes a game.

I want Goodrow, Blais, Rooney, and the others to play well, but NYR need to make sure guys on the bubble between lines 2 and 3 like Chytil and Kravtsov still get the appropriate playing time.

If only we had the balls to offer sheet.

Maybe we can lock up our kids long term instead of dragging our feet too....

I'm not into offer sheets (but, admittedly, waiting for the Colorado Avalanche revenge offer sheet to Alexis Lafreniere when he becomes a RFA for the NYR offer sheet to Joe Sakic in 1997), and I'm not sure how credible these two are, but an offer sheet to Brady Tkacuk would be intriguing.

But Sakic is GM of the Avs now. Is he going to offer sheet Lafreniere in retaliation for an offer sheet that he signed?

He did and that’s where I first really identified him as a target. Was following Zucc those playoffs as well and couldn’t help but notice Hintz’s tools. Very Zibanejad-like with a powerful stride and shot. Plays a power game but not necessarily a powerforward, can make plays or snipe one in himself. That’s why I’d love to see him and Kakko together
