The thing is a beast. I've been running it non stop since launch and haven't had a single issue with it.Hey, I've been out of gaming for awhile and have been kicking around getting a PS5. Can someone give me a decent idea of this thing's lifespan? Part of what holds me back is dumping $500 into this thing and having the PS6 announced next spring.
PS6 isn’t coming out for a looooooong time. Prices on graphics hardware has gone through the roof and doesn’t look like it’s coming down any time soon. PS6 is gonna be a real challenge to make if there ever is one. Could be all cloud by then.Hey, I've been out of gaming for awhile and have been kicking around getting a PS5. I have started to have a loud(ish) noise form the PS5 when I turn mine on. Still works great and once i'm in game it settles. Just has me slightly concerned. The thing is a beast. I've been running it non stop since launch and haven't had a single issue with it.
Disc or discless? I have the disc one due to ESO, and mine spins up on startup but then stops after about 30 seconds. Probably just the disc drive reading the disc.I have started to have a loud(ish) noise form the PS5 when I turn mine on. Still works great and once i'm in game it settles. Anyone else experience this?

Disc PS5. Feels odd because it didn't happen for the longest time and now is getting a little louder.Disc or discless? I have the disc one due to ESO, and mine spins up on startup but then stops after about 30 seconds. Probably just the disc drive reading the disc.
Not really. It's just something disc drives do. My computers spin their drives all the time for a few minutes on start up as well.Disc PS5. Feels odd because it didn't happen for the longest time and now is getting a little louder.
Not overly concerned, just wondering if there is a remedy .
Wouldn't say that. The PS5 disc drive was actually mindblowingly loud at launch but software updates made it way quieter. I have a Day 1 PS5 and I dont even notice the disc drive now and play plenty on disc. Could be the dust in the fans. Pull off the side panels (you can just do it by hand no tools necessary, look it up online) and see if theres dust in there. Not really. It's just something disc drives do. Nothing to be worried about.
Will do and then report back.Take out the disc and see if it makes the sound the next time you start it up
Just only for free only on PS+ subscription service. You can still buy the game.Is Kena BoS onky available until the end of the month, or on a service where it’s available for good (or at least until the contract runs out)?
Sorry, I shoulda worded this better. I don’t know the tier names off the top of my head.Just only for free only on PS+ subscription service. You can still buy the game.
No, it's not a monthly game, it's added to the catalogSorry, I shoulda worded this better. I don’t know the tier names off the top of my head.
Is Kena one of those games you have to add to your library within a month or you miss out? Like Sacboy was.
I think we'll get atleast one big PC port. Just forgot to mention it. While I'm on PC, I'm also on PS5 and have been in the PS ecosystem way longer than PC gaming, so the hope of a PC port doesn't immediately jump to mind. Hopefully, you guys get something good. Could also see it being Ghost of Tsushima. Possible but highly unlikley Horizon:Forbidden West or God of War: Ragnarok (they'll come but probably not this fast). We could also see the leaked Horizon multiplayer game and/or Horizon Zero Dawn remake. Personally I'd like to see Demon's Souls or Ratchet and Clank on PC.
A Persona 3 remake has been leaked/rumored for a while, dunno what the timeline on it would be though given Atlus typically doesn't work fast. Some "out of left field" from me are Destiny 3 announced for next gen systems (and PC) only, a release date for Eiyuden Chronicles, and Suikoden and Persona remakes. More likely news is a FFXVI demo drops and Yakuza 8 details.
the belief is that anything Persona shown would likely be at an MS event. I think when they got Persona 5 over to X Box, Atlus signed some sort of marketing deal with X-Box.A Persona 3 remake has been leaked/rumored for a while, dunno what the timeline on it would be though given Atlus typically doesn't work fast.
They already have the engine thanks to Persona 5 and the story is already written so that should speed up the process.A Persona 3 remake has been leaked/rumored for a while, dunno what the timeline on it would be though given Atlus typically doesn't work fast.
Me, wondering when it'll be worth spending half a grand on a PS5 reading this:We could also see the leaked Horizon multiplayer game and/or Horizon Zero Dawn remake. Personally I'd like to see Demon's Souls or Ratchet and Clank on PC.
