Uh, mixed reactions on HF for Horizon 2.
I just finished the tutorial and interlude (or whatever it's called). Sadly I am unable to play the game more than 2-3 hours a day as I also care about the story. I don't want to be massively drunk when I play....

The ones that don't like it don't own it.

I've been hearing and seeing glowing reviews for the game from a lot of people. I'm really thinking about picking it up later today. I really liked the first one a lot.
It's so much better than the first one.

Yeah, hard to understand anyone saying Horizon 1 or 2 is a bad game. The first was a bit generic to some I suppose, but it was well made. Neither of them are cashgrabs or have any lootbox bs etc.

I own it, and I will never say forbidden west and the horizon franchise is bad. However I have so many criticisms I actually will have to organize it into a list.
Could you list a few? I don't like swimming mechanics so far and movement can be a bit janky at times, other than that I love it. I knew I'd love it though.

Well, looks like I stumbled onto a ps5. Was playing some Warzone with a friend and turns out his wife came across a couple online and bought them. They are going to sell me the horizon bundle that comes with two controllers for $970.

Hadn’t planned on buying one any time soon as they are near impossible to find but couldn’t turn it down. Kind of excited to play horizon too. Never played the first one but it always looked pretty cool.

Has anyone experienced games loading too fast on ps4 games? I'm going through the PS+ free collection and I miss important stuff , for example on Crash Bandicoot they explain how to play the game during loading screen but I don't have time to read.

That was a problem some people have with the SSD. Any tips/things on loading screens are useless now. I don’t care about that stuff though. Lol.

I've only had it a few months but already seem to have developed a charging issue. When I use the front USB port it's no longer consistently charging my controller. It's fine when I use one of the back ports, but mildly annoying to have this happen already.

Get one of these. It is super fantastic for keeping things cool and charging your controllers when not in use.

Finally got around to adding a SSD into the expansion slot after I tried pre-loading GT7 and hit a wall.<700GB just doesn't really cut it when games like COD Cold War take up almost 200 GB. Prices had fallen a bit since last I checked which was about when Sony unlocked the ability to use the expansion slot. 2TB for $300 is easier to swallow than $450. Options have also improved. Plenty now come with a built in heatsink which Sony recommends. It was all a bit easier than I anticipated after I figured out how to get the white cover off. I can't tell a difference in performance between the internal and the Samsung that I bought which was all I was hoping for.

Did you get the heat sync with it too?

Shadow Warrior 3 launching on PS Now, and by all accounts its actually good. Congratulations to me and the other 3 people with PS Now

edit: ok this game is pretty good and funny, but it feels like more of a pc game. Ill still probably beat it on ps5 though still.

Heard from several friends around Vancouver that they finally scored a PS5 today. Sounds like EB Games in the area got a shipment. Just a heads up for anybody in vancity still looking.

You know I don't want to be a buzzkill because I sold the game only playing a few hours and others are enjoying it, but fortunately videogamedunkey published a video that pretty much summarized why I find the games overrated. It iterates too much, mass effect, witcher 3, Skyrim, far cry, uncharted, pretty much everything it does is copied from some other AAA which I could overcome if the combat lived up to its potential.

I love the concept of the combat, the bow-hunting, traps etc. but it just doesn't feel fine tuned imo.

The dialogue is awful, the voice acting sounds like everyone is from California, Aloy talks to herself every 5 seconds spouting pointless exposition.

Also I'm gonna get blasted for this but the visuals are overdone. Totally oversaturated and over brightened, even on the lower color setting mode on my tv. And I get fog can be done for stylistic reasons but there's so much fog in this game.

I have not played the new one but that is so true lol. A lot of animated shows are guilty of this as well, it can really take you out of the element when it comes to fantasy/scifi stuff

But I need her talking to herself cause i am a dummy. And I was a huge fan of the writing in HZD, and the visuals look beautiful from what i have seen, those are the 2 main reasons I still might check it out, cause I agree about lacking gameplay. But i rarely finish a game, I did finish main story on HZD by avoiding as much shit as I could lol. Then I peaced tf out and I will never touch it again tbh

I'm enjoying Horizon Forbidden West, but I must admit, I'm not as enthralled as I was with the first game.

There are obvious mechanical and visual improvements, but the overriding feeling of mystery and exploration in the first game, both in terms of what happened to the world and Aloy's place in it just isn't there in this one thus far. I like where the storyline is going, I'm still interested in the world, but that first game was just narrative magic for me. One of my favorites stories ever in a videogame.
