I'm gonna wait for the reviews on this and maybe its eventual sale (Deathloop got knocked down price was quite fast), but this game does look weirdly intriguing.
Horizon getting almost perfect review scores. I'm expecting to play it and come away thinking, "yeah, it was pretty good".
Can't wait to get my hands on it. This, Miles Morales, and the GoW Ragnarok were the main selling point for me to get a PS5. Seems to be getting pretty good reviews all around. No thread for Horizon Forbidden West? Anyway, I spent more than 400 hours playing the previous one and bought a PS5 mostly for this, so I'm hyped and ready to spend weeks going to work, playing this game, sleeping rinse and repeat.
Bought Miles Morales when I bought PS5. It was okay, but basically the same as Spider-Man I had just played like a year ago. I haven't put in any time looking at GoW Ragrarok, even though GoW 2018 is up there in my games of all time. Can't wait to get my hands on it. The reviews seem to be showing it won't burn you like Cyberpunk, although CDPR pulled a fast one on reviewers only handing out the PC version which misled the public about the issues on base consoles. Horizon sounds like it might have some minor pop-in bugs and some loading issues but nothing major or game-breaking. And, reviewers seem to have got their hands on all 3 versions (PS5, PS4 Pro, and Base PS4).I am about 95% sure that I will also buy it on day 1, but I also got burned with my last preorder of a game that ended in 77.
Really though, it seems like the main critique people have of the original Horizon is that BoTW came out around the same time and was a lot better. I've never played BoTW and also didn't come to Horizon until pretty late, and I got tons of mileage out of the first game while not really being someone who eats up open world games. It looks like they've just dialed everything in and improved some of the lackluster parts of the game, and I am lucky enough to have a PS5, so I think I'm all in for day 1.

As for BoTW and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Outside of both being open-world games that came out in 2017, they are dramatically different games. I've completely beat Horizon (Outside of a couple of collectibles) and its DLC and have put like 25 hours into BoTW (I'll get back to it and finish it at some point). BoTW was revolutionary due to certain mechanics such as climbing and the physics engine, whereas Horizon outside of its unique premise was more tried and true style of open world. Personally, I think I like the more linear and direct approach of Horizon, compared to the complete sandbox/openness of BoTW. But, I completely get why people absolutely love BoTW and consider it the best game of the last generation (even if it isn't mine).
Depends on how bad you want it/did you plan on owning systems in both ecosystems, combined with the fact do you think you'd have a good chance of getting it again considering it's unclear when demand will finally slow down. PS5 already has some pretty good exclusives depending on what you like (Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, Demon Souls), and Horizon will obviously play much better with next-gen hardware.Got another PS5 invite for today. I bought a Series S 2 months ago since it seemed like I would never get a PS5 so now I'm on the fence.
Seriously thinking about it for Horizon even though I could get it for PS4. Not sure what else I'd play yet though since I just bought the new Cyberpunk update on my Series S
Yeah I bit the bullet and got it. First generation I've had both but it's also the first generation I'm making decent money so whatever.Depends on how bad you want it/did you plan on owning systems in both ecosystems, combined with the fact do you think you'd have a good chance of getting it again considering it's unclear when demand will finally slow down. Enjoy. This is the first-gen since PS2/Xbox I've had two consoles(although in my college 2 bedroom apartment for 3 years I had a PS3 and my roommate had a 360), although it's the PS5 and Switch Oled (plan on traveling and seemed like a good companion). There's a ton of great content, and hopefully God of War: Ragnarok meets its current release goal (which is sometime in 2022).Yeah I bit the bullet and got it. I'm too much of a fan of Sony's single player games not to.
I'm happy to report they fixed almost nothing about what I didn't like about the first game. Glad I bought this physical, gonna flip it for Elden Ring asapNever finished the first Horizon and I find it funny that it's once again coming out within like a week of a much more anticipated open world game.
Try games without any or with minimal camera controls like Detroit: become human Sackboy, Astros playroom, sports games etc. I always find controlling the camera with the right stick is what gets new or retired gamers.I just got a PS5 and haven't had a console since PS3. I absolutely suck at games now .
