You disagree with Hilferty’s response regarding Torts? So embarrassing
Sounds like you’re projecting & trying to seek out reasons to complain about a positive. It’s not that he’s paying the fine, he should, it’s that he’s being a try-hard making people like him because it’s what Ed Snider would’ve done.
It’s the right thing to do, so just do it. If you’re telling everyone and getting your hired gun to do it, then you just want applause. Ed would’ve made it known, but at least it would be, I think, with assembled media, and less prepared.
Stop trying to be Ed Snider, just be Dan Hilferty.
Why is it positive? Torts got himself kicked out of the most important game of the season.Sounds like you’re projecting & trying to seek out reasons to complain about a positive.
Sure, it’s something Ed Snider would do. That means Hilferty isn’t allowed to think the same way or he’s being disingenuous?
You telling me you haven’t learned from people you admire, & if you follow things they’ve done that you like you are being a disingenuous “try-hard”?
Maybe you can start an anti-mentorship movement.
They can, and do, doesn’t mean we don’t see through it.I have a hard time getting annoyed at harmless gestures like the one from Hilferty. Same with them reverting back to the double center ice logo.
Outside of niche contrarian hockey forums, normal parts of the fanbase eat this kind of stuff up. Why shouldn't the team throw red meat at the fans that they'll love and hurts no one?
Have you ever had mentors? Why is it positive? Torts got himself kicked out of the most important game of the season.
I already said why it’s disingenuous. The people who do the right thing for the right reasons don’t seek out acclaim and approval. If they find out later that’s fine, but people want to eat it up because they wait the fairytale to be true.
They can, and do, doesn’t mean we don’t see through it.
For some reason respecting & trying to bring back the Ed Snider mentality is a bad thing?I'm not sure what you think you're seeing through. I don't think he's trying to obfuscate what he's doing at all.
i'd rather he called out a clown for being a clown..but not quite in those terms...you can both have someone's back and not be happy with their anticsI'm not sure what you think you're seeing through. I don't think he's trying to obfuscate what he's doing at all.
A career high-level corporate health insurance executive is exactly what I think of when I think of a father, mentor, or idol.Have you ever had mentors?
Have you ever had idols?
Did you perhaps have a father who instilled things on you?
Have you adopted some of the things that they do that you admire?
Apparently, according to yourself, you’re a disingenuous “try-hard” if you have.
lol you know..i hate this song but ..you pretty much gave me the idea of what song fits this organization perfectlyFor some reason respecting & trying to bring back the Ed Snider mentality is a bad thing?
I guess it is for many on this board. But it’s valued by the majority of the fanbase.

One of usI wept when I found out Hilferty will pay Tortorella's fine. He even found a way to shoehorn in the "New Era of Orange" slogan.
I feel like Dan Hilferty is watching out for me too. He would give me the IBX-branded shirt off his back, if the cameras were rolling.
I’m as critical as the next guy of this team’s management team….well maybe not as critical as the next guy here….but this whole story to me is a complete non-story. Who gives a shit…unless someone is just looking for the next thing to be angry about. I like to evaluate things that matter and this isn’t one of them.I have a hard time getting annoyed at harmless gestures like the one from Hilferty. Same with them reverting back to the double center ice logo.
