Other Sports: Soccer/Football Thread Part Six

Wow. $7m Euro ($7.3Mish US) to one of the head of the Referees group.

Barcelona claims it was just for 'technical reports' which seems pretty damn extravagant charge for such a thing and likely bullshit.

I stupidly started Estupinan away to Villa (a good team) instead of Andersen away to Man United (a bad team). Cost me 17 FPL points.

Bringing on Skipp and Davies was certainly an interesting choice.

It went in our favor today but PL VAR has to be the worst implemented video review system/competence I've ever seen. No other league or sport gets it wrong so consistently. I think the red card was acceptable but that second Liverpool goal certainly seems onside.

Only reason I don't feel too bad about it is it's almost certain at some point a similar type call will go against Spurs later in the season.

An orange card that was red. Can understand that.

Barely checking the goal by Diaz that looked on and they didnt show a line.

The 1st yellowcard to Jota that led to him being sent off.

The writers are back in hollywood! Scripted.

It's a shame that a game that was so anticipated turned out the way it did.The only thing I really care about for this season is to see Spurs playing an aggressive attacking style so three points here doesn't mean much. There were some good things but when Liverpool went down 2 men Spurs looked anemic.

PGMOL should maybe stop just acknowledging errors and maybe, I don't know...? Fix them?
If you arent going to use VAR and get it right, dont have it all. They cost liverpool a clear goal. It seems like based on their apology they didnt even review it . Though this isnt the first time VAR has gotten it wrong. Very annoying.
